Panic! At The Disco Concert

Hola everyone.

Soooo, I have something really exciting to tell you about. And looking at the title, you can already guess what this is going to be about… Exactly. The unbelieveable, holy moly amazing experience of seeing the INCREDIBLY talented musician(s) of Panic! At The Disco live. And I can tell you, that was something I’ll never forget, for sure.

.

It all started a few months ago when I saw that they were going on tour. And I mean, of course I had to see them, simply because I love them with all of my heart. And at that time I didn’t know if the whole thing with Berlin would work out, so I bought tickets for Berlin and my hometown (I later sold the one for my city and of course kept the other one).

.

And just three days ago the moment had come. And I was soooo damn excited, oh my god. Then the support act called Tigertown played, and I have to say, they actually did a pretty great job. I mean, sometimes the support acts are just not good and don’t fit for the main act. But this one did. And they were really good.

.

And then of course it was time for Panic to come out. And I was freaking out. Seriously. And oh my god, they were UNBELIEVEABLE. I mean, I knew they were amazing, but that was more than amazing. That was breathtaking.

.

First of all I need to say that Brendon is one of the best singers I have ever got the honor to see live. It’s nearly shocking how good he can control his voice and make it work the way he wants. It was so fascinating to listen to him singing. And just by the way, although he’s quite older than me, watching him on stage made me notice how damn hot he is. Like, not just hot, I mean for real hot HOT.

.

That kind of hot that can only emerge when you watch a guy who’s singing his heart out, jumping around on stage and capturing the whole audiences with his talent and appearance and energy. And that kind of hot that makes me want to be a little bit older just so that I can say things like that without having people think that I’m weird. Oh and he did two backflips and danced around like there was no tomorrow, which made the whole show even better. You could really sense how he enjoyed being up there, which he also told us mayn time – how cute?

.

And the songs were even better live than on the studio album. And that is really really hard. And I was so damn happy when they played their song “Ready To Go”, because this is the first song of them that I ever listened to, a few years ago, 2013 I think. Back then I didn’t even know that that song was their song, so this one is really important to me. And yes, it did get quite emotional when they played it and yes, I cried.

.

So overall, it was hot, sold out, loud, a room nearly bursting full of energy, an amazing show, an amazing band, a breathtakingly talented singer, I nearly screamed and sang my lungs out and I seriously couldn’t have enjoyed the time any more than I already did. It. Was. Perfect. And I couldn’t be any happier that I went to the concert.

.

There you go. That is the highlight of the week and probably month too. If any of you want to talk to me, I’m here. And until then, I hope you enjoyed this post, and as always, thanks for reading. x

Being a fangirl

Hola everyone.

Today I want to talk about a topic that really means a lot to me. And that possibly some of you can relate to. Which is being a fangirl or like I would say it, being completely obsessed with a band or a musician.

.

So, I recently talked my friend about this because I watched a three hour long live stream of Marin Garrix show at the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). And you can probably already tell by now that I completely freaked out. It was 4 am and I was jumping around in front of my TV, smiling from one ear to the other with Peaches and Molly sleeping behind me on the couch. They probably thought I was completely crazy. And I sometimes caught myself thinking that too, but you know, who cares? I had such a blast and it was so freaking amazing.

.

And here comes the important part. Of course I had to tell my friend all about that and I sent her about 150 messages that night because I was so excited and I just had to share my excitement. We talked about it the next day and I had the feeling that I was annoying. And then she told me that she kind of stopped being a fangirl. And I was shocked. Because she was once obsessed with bands and music like me. But somehow that changed.

.

She said things like dreaming and living in a real world and so on. And then I started thinking. Because I am a huge fangirl, but I never thought that I lived in a fake, dreamy world. I mean, dreaming makes the world so much better, but that doesn’t mean that you forget about the real world.

.

Since starting to be a fangirl I’ve always been confronted with this typical idea that people had of fangirls and moreover of me because I was and am one. According to them, fangirls are young, dreamy girls that scream about everything a band or a musician does and want to marry them. They live in a fake world that they have to grow out of. Until then they are just some weird girls being obsessed over people they’ll never meet.

.

This idea might fit for 12 year old girls, maybe not even then. And I want to use this post to spread a new idea of what a fangirl truly is. Because I am a fangirl and I’m nothing of the above. I noticed that when I talked to my friend. And I wrote a list of my favorite bands and musicians:

  • Conor Maynard
  • Fall Out Boy
  • Two Door Cinema Club
  • Panic! At The Disco
  • The 1975
  • Twenty One Pilots
  • Martin Garrix
  • Ed Sheeran

.

Apart from Conor and Martijn, there are no guys out there I can fall in love with. Maybe Ed too, his voice is just too angelic. But the point I want to get to is that when I started being a fangirl I was this little crazy girl who dreamt about marrying some guy (okay, it was Justin, hey hey) but I grew up and I am still this crazy girl, but today I am crazy about the music. I still stalk the bands online. I still fly over to concerts in different countries. I still go to concerts wayyyy to early just to get a good view. I still scream when I see them. I still cry when the bands finally get on stage and I get to see them. I still have them as my lock screen on my phone, depending on which one I love most right now. I still buy the albums. And I still think about them all the time. They are my world. Always were, always will be.

.

So nothing changed. Except that I grew up. You know, whenever people notice how crazy you are about some certain bands or musicians, they look at you like you’ve just completely lost your mind. But that’s not how it is. I’m a fan. And I’m a girl. So I am a FAN-GIRL. I’m not 12, I don’t dream about stupid unreal scenarios and I’m not crazy. I just show how much I love music and the people who bring it into my life. And that’s it. That’s what being a fangirl nowadays means.

.

So, there you go. I know, this is kind of a rant about the general view of fangirls, but I just had to get it out there. Even my mum is a fangirl still and Coldplay, the band we flew over to Copenhagen just to see them, is the reason for this. And I hope I’ll once fly to concerts with my children when I’m older. And I really really really hope that my children will fall as hard in love with music as I did. Because it brought so much happiness into my life that I can’t even describe it. Seriously.

.

As this is a really important part of my life, I’d be really happy to receive some messages from you guys. So feel free to talk to me, I’m here. I really hope that you enjoyed this post, it really means a lot to me. And as always, thank you so much for reading. x

Awesome new music

Hola everyone.

The day has come. The time is here. Two Door Cinema Club AND Kings of Leon have both released their new albums after waiting for what felt like ages. And of course I need to talk about them. With you. Now.

.
You probably guessed it. And yes, I have indeed already bought both albums. And of course right when they got released, I just had to. And I can tell you, they are both breathtakingly amazing. But first things first, let’s go through album by album.

.
Gameshow by Two Door Cinema Club

If you are a fan of this band, you probably had to go through a tough time, waiting for them to release new music, missing them when they were on their break. And now they are FINALLY back. Thank god. The album itself is a masterpiece, but certainly not for the “old” TDCC fans. Because this album certainly is a change. Less guitars, more beats. Less drums, more syhntic sounds. The whole album feels like a ride back to disco music from the 80s or 90s. But it kind of really fits.

.
Honestly, I was a little bit disappointed at first but the more you listen to the songs, the more you get into them. And I can actually see them on stage, turning the disco songs into cool indie pop with their still so well beloved guitars.

.
Overall the album is a huge change, but a good one. There are songs that are more on the funky side but also some for people who would rather stick to the guitar indie pop, like their song Gameshow. I think that every single indie fan should reallyyyy give this album a listen, you won’t regret. And I can just tell you, I’ve been listening to the album every day since it came out and it makes me more and more excited for their upcoming tour and the day I’ll get to hear all the amazing new songs live.

.
In short:

  • Album overall: amazing new funky sound but definitely a change – in a good way of course
  • My favorite songs: Gameshow and Sucker (this one really gives you a cool Halloween spook vibe)

.

.

WALLS by Kings of Leon

Let’s be honest, KOL have always been an amazing band. But this album right there is a whole other thing. Like I said to my friend, the album is a revelation. Every single song is better than the other one, which just adds to its awesomeness.

.
Actually, I think that is album is also a huge change for this band. It has more of a indie and relaxed vibe to it. So it’s perfect it you just want to chill and listen to some really freaking awesome music. Personally, I like the change from rock to more indie, but I guess that some people might not. But hey, you can never satify everyone.

.
Overall, I think the album is really really amazing and also their best one so far. There are more upbeat songs and also some that are more laid back. But every single one is great and Caleb’s voice is the highlight, for real. So I can just highly recommend it to all of you.

.

In short:

  • The album overall: also a new sound but a really amazing one, full of awesome lyrics, beats and sounds
  • My favorite songs: Waste A Moment, All Around The World, Find Me

.

.

So guys, there you go. Two amazing albums, two great chances to here some new music and my overall opinion. Honestly, I love both bands with all of my heart and I can’t wait to hear and see them live again. And I can just recommend them to all of you. If any of you have already listened to the album or want to chat about anything else, I’m here. And until then, I hope you enjoyed this post and, as always, thanks for reading. x

Oh My My – album review

Hola everyone.

It looks like October is the month of good music. And amazing album releases. And OneRepublic are the ones who couldn’t have started it any better. Their new album “Oh My My” just got released on Friday and oh my my, it’s pure perfection. And of course I already listened to all of the songs and one song is better than the other one. And of course I have to talk about it, what else?

.

The album starts with a song called ” Let’s Hurt Tonight”, a totally heartbreaking ballade about love and hurt, with the typical OneRepublic sound and Ryan Tedders breathtaking voice. Goosebumps guaranteed. It continues with amazing pop sounds, some more on the ballade-side, some more on the synthetic side, which is surprisingly new for this band and a really cool addition to the common sound. Besides that, the LP also features three collabs with, Cassius on the name giving tune “Oh My My”, Peter Gabriel and Santigold.

.

To be honest, the album consists of 20 heavily good songs and none sounds like another one. And that’s not easy, seriously. Every single song is a surprise on it’s own, you can never know what to expect. Besides hearing another amazing tune. Most importantly, once again, Ryan Tedder shows why he is where he is now. It’s no wonder that people in the music industry call him one of the best writers right now. Because he seriously is. And also the band shows that they have never been better.

.

For me, the song called “Better” is the highlight of the album. And I would say that it’s the biggest surprise of the whole LP, mostly because of Ryans amazing rap parts and the super catchy beat that you just can’t resist. No way. Here’s the link if you want to check it out – youtube.com.

.

Personally, I can only recommend you guys to buy or listen to the album, you won’t regret it, I swear. And although I have already seen them two times, I can’t wait for the dates of the upcoming tour, I really really really want to see them again. Especially now that I know which songs I’ll be able to hear live. I’m already so damn excited.

.

If any of you guys have already listened to the album or like the band as much as me, I’d be happy to chat with you. Oh and you can expect to hear more about music this month, as  both, Two Door Cinema Club and Kings Of Leon are releasing their new albums in the next two weeks. And until then, I hope you enjoyed this post, and, as always, thanks for reading. x

Me-time and de-stressing

Hola everyone.

Today I want to talk about something that should be important for everybody and that really means a lot to me, actually. And yes, you guessed it – I’m talking about ways I de-stress and relax and calm myself down. Actually, Zoella again inspired me to do this post. I wanted to write this one for weeks now, but watching her lastest video (link) really pushed me to finally do it. So, here we go.

.

Nowadays, I think it’s honestly really hard to completely switch off and de-stress, mostly because being online and just basically on surrounds and follows us the whole day and, for most of us, night too. I mean, I know, smartphones and tv shows and movies and the social media are all gifts from heaven, but sometimes, especially smartphones, have nothing than a bad impact on us. Personally, I try to not have my phone next to me the whole day, for example I turn it off at night and keep it in another room. I actually can’t sleep if my phone is in the same room when I go to sleep. And sometimes I even have a day off from my phone. I just don’t turn it on at all and I have to say, it really relaxes me a lot. And yes, you seriously have more time for other things if you don’t waste it being online all the time and reading a Facebook feed for the third time.

.

Oh and of course, today, stress is something normal for most of us. There’s always something to do and I think that for some people, it’s really difficult to separate themselves from all the do-do-lists and work and stress, which is also a reason I wanted to write this post. So, let’s get to the most important part, which is my ways of de-stressing and winding down and getting some me-time.

.

  • Taking a bath
    • This is actually one of the most important things for me if I want to relax, because I can literally wash all of the stress of the day off and clean my mind. And also, who doesn’t love soaking a little bit and lying in some nice warm water before going to bed. It really gets you in that chilly and sleepy mood.

.

  • Going for a walk with Molly or going for a short run
    • I think that any physical activity can help you de-stress and clean your mind. I especially love going for a run when I’m angry or when I have the feeling that I’ll explode any time. And getting some fresh air at all just really gets me down.

.

  • Taking some photographs
    • You know how much my camera means to me and since I got it, taking pictures became a really important part of my life and one of my biggest and most important and intense hobbies. And I noticed how walking around with my camera and taking some nice pictures really calms me down, because I fully concentrate one this one thing and everything else just fades away.

.

  • Cuddling with Peaches
    • I think that pets are really important if you want to live a happy life. Especially when it comes to me and Peaches, we really have a special bond and basically stick together all the time. The past week my day started with a huge cuddle session with Peaches and actually there aren’t a lot of things that relax me as much as holding Peaches in ma arms and hearing her purr.

.

  • Cooking or baking something
    • Food. What else gets you relaxed if food doesn’t? I don’t really know how it happened but through time cooking and baking became a really important hobby of mine and I just love it. Taking raw products and turning them into something delicious. I especially love meals that just get you into this cozy and warm mood, like pasta, stew or a nice soup. And eating all that good stuff afterwards is just the most amazing part, let’s be honest.

.

  • Watching a good movie or tv series
    • Movies and tv series just really mean a lot to me, you know that. But I think when I want to forget about my problems or all of the stress, watching a nice movie or a good tv series really gets me down and makes me forget about everything else. Except when I have to really finish college stuff or study for an exam, then watching a movie just makes everything worse. Because I won’t feel any better before I don’t finish it all.

.

  • Reading a book or listening to music
    • I think that especially listening to music and doing nothing while doing that and reading a good book really helps me relax and wind down before going to bed. Both, books and music really do mean a lot to me and help me de-stress is just a really nice bonus.

.

  • Talking to my friends or family
    • To be honest, talking to someone about all the things that stress me out and make me nervous, really helps me a lot. Or even talking to you guys about it really helps me. Because it gets all the stuff off of my mind and that’s just amazing.

.

  • Sleeping
    • Actually, there’s nothing to add to this. Just sleep. That’s pretty much the best way to relax. So please, try to get a good sleep every night, it really helps.

.

So guys, there you go. Those are my ways of relaxing and winding down and getting some me-time. I hope I could help you guys with some of my tips and also, maybe some of you do the same to relax, which is awesome. Oh and if any of you want to talk to me about de-stressing or anything else, I’m here. And until then, I hope you enjoyed this post and, as always, thanks for reading. x

Music of the month

I know it’s early for a music of the month list, but hey, there can never be enough lists about music, right? I have to say that my current taste in music and my favorite songs are especially influenced by all the new upcoming albums of some of my favorite bands. And of course they all thought “why not release some singles first and basically bless all the ears on this planet???”. Thanks guys.

.

Anyways, all this songs are freaking amazing and I love them and some have a special meaning to me and some are just a blessing. But all of them are perfect. Enjoy.
