COLDPLAY

Hola everyone.

I know, most of you won’t probably be surprised by what I’ll be saying right now. You guys know me. So, actually it’s late at night and I just got home from a concert. And looking at the title you all know which concert I’m talking about – Coldplayyyy. I just saw Coldplay again and it was freaking fantastic.

.

Actually I’m currently lying in bed in my flat and I just had the idea that I had enough time still to write down my just so happened concert experience. So I got cozy in my pajamas, lied down in bed and put Zoellas latest blog on to listen to while writing to you guys. She and Alfie just moved house and as far as I’ve seen until now, the new house is freaking mindblowing. Gosh, I’m so jealous. Goals, seriously.

.

But yes, this is not about Zalfie and their amazing new house. This is about Coldplay and their crazy concert tonight. As you know I’ve already had the chance to see them live in Copenhagen last year with my mum and we now renewed this experience together, nearly on the exact same date (three weeks apart I think). And I completely loved it. The strange thing is that I usually don’t even listen to Coldplay, only when I see them live or my mum plays their songs at home. But apart from that, never. But as soon as they got onstage tonight, I freaked out. They somehow have the power to turn me into the biggest fan ever, they just bring such an incredible dynamic.

.

And you can probably guess that I cried, of course I did. But it’s not even my fault, their songs are just so sad. But I didn’t cry because I was sad, but because I was just so emotional and happy. And I looked around and saw people in the audience screaming their lungs out, hugging their friends and loved ones and just enjoying the moment. And seeing how happy people were just made me so happy that the tears just started streaming down my cheeks. But when they played Fix You I was actually really sad, because it reminded me of the concert for the terrorist attack in Manchester when they played it too. And then it reminded me of the attack and it just hit me. I still can’t believe that really happened.

.

But apart from that I was all smiley faces. Really. I was so happy for my mum that she could see her favorite band again and I loved watching her enjoy herself and the moment. And I just loved the show, I really did. They really know how to put on a great show. We again got wristbands that lit up during the show and whoever had that idea, you’re a genius, seriously. And of course their musical talent is just amazing, especially Chris really knows how to make a concert even more special.

.

My favorite moment has to be when they played Paradise and Princess Of China. I don’t really know why but Princess Of China has always been my favorite song of them and when they played Paradise all the wristbands lit up again and the whole crowd transformed into a huge rainbow. That was pure magic.

.

So yeah, that was my night with Coldplay. My voice is still gone, I sound like I’m an old grandma that has been smoking ten packs of cigarettes every day of her life (actually I’ve never smoked in my life, there are only a few things I hate more than smoking), and my ears are still a little bit hurting, so I guess I really need those two next weeks to recover until I see Paramore at the end of June. Honestly guys, I can just recommend you that whenever you get the chance to see Coldplay live, please go. You won’t regret it. Never. Trust me. And until then I hope you liked my post. And that you’re all doing well. Oh and please don’t hesitate to leave a comment. And, as always, thanks for reading. x

Rock In Vienna

Hola everyone.

Another day, another festival – am I right? As I told you on Friday, Saturday was a special day for me as my mum and me got to attend a festival – Rock In Vienna – and go to see Kings Of Leon live again. And holy moly, it was amazing.

.

First of all I have to say that I’m actually used to big, powerful crowds and festivals with over 90.000 attendees. But Saturday was a little different. Honestly, I think it was actually the smallest festival I’ve ever been to. But that didn’t change the awesomeness of the show.

.

The first band we got to hear was a german band called Grossstadtgeflüster, who I think did a perfect job of heating up the crowd. And after them another german band called Silbermond took over the stage. This band is quite popular in my country so I knew them beforehand and it was actually pretty cool to see them. Especially as I never thought that I’d ever see them live.

.

And then it was already time for the main act to come up – Kings Of Leon. I don’t know about you guys but I think KOL are a breathtakingly good band. When I saw them live first at Sziget two years ago I actually didn’t know many of their songs and I was blown away by how good they were. So I started to listen to their songs more and more and basically developed a fully grown love for their music. And when I saw that they would have a concert here in my country, I just had to go.

.

As you can imagine I was immensely excited to hear their songs live, especially their new album. And actually I have to say that their show last weekend was even better than the one in Sziget. We were lucky enough to be quite close to the stage so I could all actually see them and it was so wonderful to see how they enjoyed the show too and that they were happy to be here. For me that makes a concert thousand times better. And as you can probably guess their show was amazing, seriously. Caleb is an incredible singer, I totally love his voice, it’s so different and special. And the whole band was just perfect. I loved every single second of it.

.

The most beautiful moment for me was when they played their new song Walls. It’s a quite slow and calm song, so at the beginning Caleb was the only one singing and playing guitar and the whole crowd went silent. And that was just so magical. I held my mum and just listened and that moment was pure perfection.

.

But what I probably enjoyed most was how KOL acted on stage and when their show ended. You know, when as show ends I’m usually one of those people who stays until the very end, I just never want it to end. And it seemed like they were thinking the same thing. They thanked us over and over again, threw their stuff into the crowd and waved and waved and waved. And I was so shocked because at Sziget they were off stage in a blink and now there they were, smiling and waving and walking around on stage. And I adored that so much and still do. That really showed how much they liked it. They played Waste A Moment and then stayed on stage for a little after – the perfect ending for me.

.

God, I’m still so happy that I got to see them again and that Saturday really happened. I don’t know what I’d do without concerts and festivals. Probably curl up in a ball and cry. But thank god live music is such a perfect thing and I have the chance to tell you all about it and share the happiness.

.

So yeah, that was what happened on Saturday. What a beautiful day. I really hope you enjoyed this post and my little story. Oh and please don’t hesitate to leave your comments down below. And until then I hope you all had an amazing weekend and wish you a good week. And, as always, thanks for reading. x

What’s Up

Hola everyone.

I just wanted to give you guys a little update. Actually I’ve been quite busy this week, meeting friends, going to uni, enjoying the nice weather and sadly also beginning to study for my upcoming exams. But tomorrow is going to be a very exciting day as I’m going to a festival – yes, a festival.

.

God, I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am. It’s called Rock In Vienna and I’m so looking forward to it, as the Kings Of Leon are the headliners. I can’t wait to see them again. I mean, their show at Sziget in 2015 was mind-blowing and I’m pretty sure tomorrow is going to be just as good, if not even better. And I can’t wait to finally hear their new album live.

.

But apart from the music I’m so happy to be finally back at a festival. To feel the happiness and excitement. The festival vibes. Especially as festivals have to be one of the happiest places for me. That’s when I feel free from all of my worries. And I’m happy I can again experience it together with my mum.

.

So yeah, that’s what’s going to happen tomorrow. And I can only just repeat myself – I can’t wait. Of course I’ll be updating you guys again on Monday with my report from the festival. And until then I hope you enjoyed this little update and I wish you all an amazing weekend. And, as always, thanks for reading. x

Eurovision 2017

Hola everyone.

Today I’d like to talk about something typically European. Something not everyone in this world knows about. And one of the biggest music shows in the world with 42 countries taking part – Eurovision. Or as I would call it now – why Bulgaria should have won.

.

The Eurovision Song Contest is an international music competition. All of the attendees sing original songs, sometimes also in their original language, so it’s basically all about that multi-culturalism. And the music, of course. But also so much more.

.

Actually I had to watch the show this year because it was meant to be homework. But of course I just ended up staying up until long after midnight to see who wins and then, at least this year, totally freaking out about the guy who got to the second place – Kristian Kostov from Bulgaria.

.

This year’s actual winner was Salvador Sobral from Portugal. While I really wished that Kris would have won, I don’t mean to say that Salvador didn’t deserve to win. His song and performance truly was special. It’s a quiet, calm ballade sung in the original language – so I actually have no idea what the song is about. As soon as he started singing the audience went completely quiet and I guess that’s one of the reason why he was a favorite from the beginning on. He’s able to create a magical, calm moment in a apart from that huge mess of colours and pop and dancing and strong, loud voices. So yeah, I get why he won.

.

.

But that doesn’t change my opinion that Kris should have won. Here’s why… Before every performance at Eurovision, you get to see a little clip of the artist who is about to take the stage. And I was sitting on the couch, my mum next to me and Kris came on and I was like “holy moly, how old is this guy?”. Actually, he’s just 17. SEVENTEEN. Can you imagine? He’s the youngest singer to ever be part of Eurovision. And that’s just crazy. So yeah, I knew he was young and I already thought that it was so cool that someone that young could be a part of this huge show.

.

And then he came on stage and started to sing. And I was immediately blown away. I just couldn’t believe that such an amazing, incredible and mature voice came out of such a small bean of a person. I was and still am amazed. So Kris sang his song, pretty much had me speechless afterwards and then I just hoped for him to win. Unfortunately he “only” made it to the second place, which in my opinion is pretty amazing too. And as I got informed, also the highest position Bulgaria ever got to in the history of this competition. So well done Kris.

.

.

Have you ever met or seen someone and experienced what that person is capable of doing and how much talent that person has and you just want the world to know? That’s how I’m feeling about Kris. I just really want him to become famous – the good version, of course. His voice needs to be heard all around the world, he’s just too good. And I know that he has the potential.

.

But it’s not just his voice. From what I’ve seen, he’s just a really good soul too. After the show was over he had an interview and he actually started crying because he was so sad that he couldn’t make his country proud and bring the trophy home. How tragic is that? He’s 17 and just at the start of his career, he shouldn’t be sad and apologizing that he got to the second place, because that’s just as amazing. And I’m 100 percent sure that he made Bulgaria proud nonetheless. It’s an incredible achievement.

.

Since Eurovision I’ve been following Kris on social media, mostly Instagram and I’ve become quite a fan of his Instagram stories (here’s the link to his profile: instagram.com). Most of the time he speaks Russian or Bulgarian (I think?), so I basically don’t understand one single word, but it’s still as cute. And that’s probably also a reason why I’ve become a fan. It’s not just his amazing song that I’ve been listening to 24/7, but also the aspect that I’ve never really been a fan of somebody from an eastern country. So it’s all really new to me and just so damn interesting. And extremely fascinating.

.

So yeah, that’s my story about Kristian Kostov, a 17-year-old guy who sang himself into my heart. I’d really really love to see him become internationally known, because he deserves it. And quoting different people and fans from the internet who just put it perfectly into words – he’s a ball of sunshine and needs to be protected at all costs.

.

Did any of you watch this year’s contest? What do you think? Who should have won in your opinion? I’d be really interested and happy to hear from some of you guys. And until then I hope you’re all doing well and that you enjoyed this post. And, as always, thanks for reading. x

New Music Friday

Hola everyone.

Isn’t music amazing? And isn’t it even more amazing when all the bands you love bring out more and more new music and you just can’t get enough of it? God, I love when that happens. And when I have the honor to present you the best of the new songs. Let’s go.

.

Paramore

You’ve probably heard by now that Paramore are back. And for me, I think their comeback couldn’t be any better. I mean, I’ve loved their songs before but it seems like they just changed into a more like Indie type of sound and I’m living for it. Finally an Indie band with a female lead singer I can listen to. And want to listen to. And want to see them live. For me, their song “Hard Times” is literally perfect to start their new era with. Enjoy.

.

Nothing But Thieves

I’ve following this bands story since I found oat about them last year when I took a first look at the Reading festival lineup. And I immediately fell in love with them and their music, especially after seeing them live and hearing Conor’s amazing voice live and seeing how much they love what they’re doing (Conor teared up a little bit, so cute). And now that their new album is just waiting around the corner, they gifted us all with their new song “Amsterdam”, which I think is just mind-blowingly good and shows perfectly how good they are.

.

Kraftklub

This one is for all of my readers out there, who like to listen to German music. Kraftklub is like the perfect band to represent German rock/rap bands. Their songs are plain honest, they don’t really care about what others think about them and they do what they want. And it works. Because since I’ve had the chance to see them live at Sziget I wasn’t able to get them of my go-to song list. After a small hiatus they are now back, more honest than ever with two new songs. Down below is the link to the second one they released called “Fenster” (translates to “Window”), which is basically about all the people who hate the world, politics and just say that everything is bad, but don’t act to make it any better. They advise them to jump out of the window then. I know, pretty hard and honest. But that’s how they are. And actually, their new songs are quite amazing

.

Foster The People

I think this band is pretty special. They always seem some kind of hidden from the outside world, like a secret. But an amazing one. I’ve known their music for years now and am so incredibly happy that they are finally back with new music. And I’m so in love with it. My favorite of their new songs is “Pay The Man”, which is also their new single. I think it perfectly represents them as a band and their music.

.

So yeah, those are my top 3 of this weeks new songs. I could’ve have included Fall Out Boy, but as I dedicated a whole blog post to their new song (click me), I thought I’d leave you with those four other amazing bands. I hope you enjoy their music as much as I do. And please don’t hesitate to leave a comment, I’d really like to read your opinions, especially on Kraftklub. And until then, I hope you enjoyed this post and are all doing well. I wish you all an awesome weekend and thanks for reading. x

They are back

Hola everyone.

I guess some of you will already know what and especially who I’m talking about. My babes from Fall Out Boy have finally come back with new music after nearly two years and I can tell you, I’m living for it. It’s quite funny that I just wrote about them a week ago, not knowing something new, something so mind-blowing was just waiting around the corner.

.

Last Saturday Pete Wentz, one of the band members, started teasing about something, a new project named “Purple”. And of course everyone freaked out, especially me, and people started guessing what the project would be. And just yesterday, at around 6 pm it was finally time to reveal the truth.

.

They presented their new album called “Mania” that will come out on the 15th of September. And they gave us the first info of their upcoming tour which will start in October in the US. And of course and most importantly, they uploaded a new song.

.

“Young and Menace” is a song that totally blew me away when I first listened to it. I was shocked, but in a good way, of course. Mostly because it’s so different to anything they’ve ever produced before. The chorus is packed with electronic beats, full of energy. For me, it’s an extremely powerful song and it’s enormous, because if a song can be that it’s this song. I would actually say that it’s quite epic. And I’m 100% sure it’s going to sound absolutely crazy live.

.

I know a lot of people don’t like the song. Because it’s for sure not like their old songs, I wouldn’t call it punk rock. But a lot of people actually really like it, love it, just like me. I don’t think they changed to this more electronic sound to fit better into the current music trends, to be more successful. I think they did it because everyone changes and we can’t expect them to stick to their old sound forever. And I actually really love the fact that they try out new sounds. I think it’s amazing. And I’m living for the whole purple thing going on, it’s so aesthetic.

.

I’m already so looking forward to the european tour dates, I can’t wait to hear them. I hope they either visit my country or come to a city near me. I’d follow them to end of the world, no joke. And I can’t wait for their upcoming album. To be honest I’m quite sad that I’ll have to wait until September to finally get to hear it, but I’m hoping they’ll give us some little bits and pieces beforehand.

.

I’m just really happy that they are finally back. I mean, I just saw them last year, but hearing a completely new sound and getting to hear a new album is extremely exciting. If you give the song a listen, please tell me your opinions, I’m really curious. And until then I hope you enjoyed this post and, as always, thanks for reading. x
