Reading festival – Day 1

Hola everyone.

3 days. 22 bands. And probably one of the best weekends in my life. Yes, I’m talking about the coolest festival of this year – Reading festival.

.

I don’t even know where to begin, it was such a cool and huge weekend and I just loved every single second of it, for real. This is why I thought to split the three days, I hope you like it (so, days 2 tomorrow).

.

The first day was kind of a rush at the beginning because mum and I got there directly from Brighton, which meant that we had to get up at like 7 am (I was close to falling asleep standing). But after we got into the hotel in Reading and to the festival area, everything was just perfect. The first band we saw was Nothing But Thieves and I can tell you, I was going crazy. I love the band so much and they were so amazing live and Conor, the lead singer, was sooooooo freaking damn cute, oh my god. He told us how important this days was for him and it felt so special.

.

Afterwards we watched Mura Masa, visited Russell Howard, probably one of the funniest people on earth, then The Internet, a new upcoming band called Paris Youth Foundation and and then the evening was already coming up. It started with The Neighbourhood, a band I’ve known for years now and had always wanted to see live. And I have to say, they were amazing. After that we had a little rush back to our hotel because it was getting cold and mum wanted to change into something warmer. Unfortunately this costed us some time and caused us to be late for Twenty One Pilots, too late to get some space in the tent. That’s why we had to watch them over the big screen.

.

Oh and I have to say something about the show. Tyler had a lil accident while playing the last song and surfing the crowd to get to his platform and the internet literally went crazy after that. I read all the comments at home but let me tell you, it really wasn’t that bad. The security should have looked after him but it wasn’t the crowds fault. And saying that they will never come to the UK again because of that is just ridiculous. So, nothing bad happened clique and yes, they slayed. And I loved every single second of it. That show reminded me again why I’m so in love with this band.

.

After screaming out 21P lyrics, mum and I went over to the main stage to watch Foals, a band none of us had ever seen live before, so I was pretty excited. And I have to say, they were really cool. Sometimes they had some kind of scream parts, which I’m not that kind of fan of, but besides that it was amazing.

.

And after Foals had rocked the main stage, we quickly went over to Jack Ü to dance to some beats. Luckily they played the one song with Justin Bieber, the one song I wanted to hear live so it was really cool. And I was so happy. And after that we had a quick listen of Oliver Heldens.

.

And that was it. Day 1 was officially over. And I walked home with the biggest grin ever. And a huuuuge amount of excitement for the next two upcoming days. Oh and speaking of that, as already mentioned, I decided to split one post into three for the three days, so it doesn’t get too long. So, stay tuned for tomorrow for day 2 and more crazy festival tales. And until then, I hope you enjoyed this post and, as always, thanks for reading. x

.

Brighton

Hola everyone.

I’m baaaaack. Finally. And I can tell you, my trip was fantastic. Brighton is such a beautiful, magnificent city. With all the cute, colorful building, the pier, the sea, the lanes and of course the beach. I loved it, honestly. And I think my mum did too, although she’s more of a beach with palm trees, sand and peace. But Brighton is more like the pebble beach, a lot of people and no trees at all beach. But to be honest, I still loved it.

.

I especially loved the lanes there, those are the cute little shopping streets, full of vintage shops and special ones too, and of course the colorful houses. But most of all I liked how much the whole city reminded me of my faves. Like, as some of you may know, Brighton is Conors hometown, so wherever I went, I always had the thought of him walking at the same place in the back of my head. We even went to visit the venue Conor had his first concert in, a place called “The Haunt”. It meant so much to be to be there.

.

And apart from that, it’s also the city of Pewdiepie, Marzia and Zoella and so many more YouTubers. Which is so so so crazy. I always asked myself why they all chose to live there, but now I get it. It’s really beautiful and special. Mum and me went to a painting pottery cafe which I remembered from one of Marzias vlogs. And I have to say, it was really really cool. I chose to paint one heart and draw Brighton on it and many more (I’ll show it to you in my upcoming haul post, so stay tuned). And it came out even more beautiful afterwards than it was when I left it there to be finished by the staff there. I think this was one of those experiences that are really special, mainly because I know that I won’t be able to find such a cafe anywhere else that quick. And whenever I look at the heart on my wall, I’ll remember that trip and how amazing it was.

.

Unfortunately I didn’t meet anyone, but just knowing that Pewds was in the same city as me at the same time was unbelievable. We even walked past the street his house is supposed to be – we didn’t walk up to be because that would be super weird and oh my god, hell no – and I have to say he chose a really nice place, right next to the beach. So thumps up for that one.

.

Besides the buildings and the beach and the shopping streets, I also think that the food there was amazing. Like, usually people say that English people can’t cook  but oh my is that wrong. Especially for my mum it was really nice to go out for dinner, as there were a lot of restaurants with vegan dishes, which was perfect for her. And I basically found my favorite meal there. One evening we were looking for a nie place to have dinner in and walked past some restaurant called “Wagamama” and I somehow knew it from somewhere, I don’t know from where until this day, but okay. And we looked at the menu and I saw that they had ramen which I had always wanted to try, so we chose to eat there. And oh my god, as I had my first sip, I flew to heaven. Food heaven. Holy moly, was that amazing. Although ramen is just a noodle soup, but it was soooo amazing. I loved it that much that we chose to go there the next evening too. So yeah, thanks to Wagamama introducing me to this delicious meal. THANK YOU.

.

Oh and I have to say, Brighton is one of the most photogenic cities I’ve ever been to, for real. Like, every pic I took looks fantastic. And that’s all thanks to the city. And of course I’ll show them to you too, that’s the purpose of this post. And as I don’t have anything else to tell you, I’ll just end this post by hoping that you enjoyed this post and the pics and by thanking you for staying with me and welcoming me back. And if any of you want to talk to me, I’m here. And until then, as always, thanks for reading. x

.

Brighton here I come

Hola everyone.

I just want to tell you guys that I’m currently sitting in the plane boarding to fly to London. That means I won’t be posting anything for the next two dates, so I’ll get back to you all next friday with all the news and gossip from Brighton, London and the Reading festival, of course. And nice pics.

.

Until then, thanks for reading and stay as amazing as you are. x

Tea, music and other things

Hola everyone.

It’s raining. And it has been raining for three days. Other than stopping me from going for walk, this is literally the perfect weather for watching movies, cuddling on the couch, drinking tea and listening to some nice music. And for a chat. And that’s what I want to do today, to have a nice little chat with you guys. So grab a hot cup of tea – I went for a good old Chai, listen to some beautiful music – I chose Ed Sheeran – and just enjoy the moment and chat a little, if you want to.

.

Sooo, what should I tell you… Movie-wise… A few days ago I watched the new horror movie Lights Out and it was fantastic. As you know, I’m a sucker for good and most importantly scary movies and this one is super scary, for real. Apart from that, I really like the idea of the movie. I mean, I already wrote an article about it for my university, so I know that this was actually a short film by David. F. Sandberg, which got so popular that the genius James Wan took notice of it and decided to work with David and turn it into a long movie. With a story so simple that it’s close to being funny. Actually, the movie plays with this one basic fear we all have – the fear of the dark. And I can tell you, I slept with my lights on this night. So if any of you guys wants to go for a exciting, scary evening, this movie is the one for you.

.

Music-wise I’m currently listening to all of the bands I’m looking forward to see next weekend. And oh my god, I’m so damn excited for Reading, I can’t even tell you. Fall Out Boy, Twenty One Pilots, Nothing But Thieves, Two Door Cinema Club, The 1975 and on on on. I could talk about it forever. And Brighton, omg. I can’t wait to finally see Brighton. I’m praying that I’ll see some YouTubers, as they strangely all live there or have family or friends there. I’d love to see Pewds, seriously. I’ll be happy if I see him, that’s all I’m wishing for. But of course, the more the better. And I don’t even need a pic or so, just seeing him would be so awesome.

Oh and besides that, today I actually actively listened to Ed Sheeran again since like months or so. And god, did I miss him. That’s why I’m currently letting his beautiful voice slip into my ear and the magical lyrics into my head. Once I start, I can’t get enough of his songs. And I’m really excited for his comeback, I do really miss him. A week ago I saw a pic on tumblr which said: “The reason 2016 is so bad is because Ed Sheeran disappeared.” And this is soooo true (and funny and kinda sad). So yeah, love him.

.

Oh and I recently watched a Connor Franta video. I know you’re probably gonna think I’m crazy for that, but I’ve never been quite a fan of him, mostly because I just didn’t watch his videos. But his latest one, the one where he just talks and paints his nails (what else?) really got me. He’s such a fascinating person, so aesthetic and full of life and inspiration. And to be honest, I’d loooooove to have him as my best friend, for real. That would be soooo cool. Oh and I highly recommend watching that video (link: youtube.com).

.

And I know, you probably expect from me to talk about the new show everyone is currently crazy about – Stranger Things. And no, I’m not going to do that because I plainly can’t because apparently I’m this one poor soul who doesn’t have a Netflix account and therefore can’t watch it. Buuuut this doesn’t stop me from watching TV, of course (duh). At the moment I’m binge watching New Girl and I love it so much. To be honest, I’ve probably seen every episode two or three times already but this doesn’t change anything, the jokes will always crack me up. How I wish I could live in that apartment, together with this crazy people. It would be so much fun. I hope I’ll once get the chance to live with people like them, just for the fun and adventure.

.

So yeah, that’s it for my part. I have to say, I really like this kind of posts, seriously. It’s so relaxing to just chat to you guys about anything and everything. I really really like it. And I hope you do too. I’d love to read any of your comments, you can hit me up anytime and talk to me about whatever you want. And until then, I hope you enjoyed this post and, as always, thanks for reading. x

My book club

Hola everyone.

Today is the day I want so start something really special. My own book club, right here, right now. Actually, again, Zoella inspired my to do this, but it’s also something I already had in mind and would really like to build up. To be honest, I was never that interested in reading books when I was younger. I mean, of course I read some, but it wasn’t something I would have called my hobby or so. But today it is. Reading and books have become my hobby and I’m really happy about that.

.

A few years ago I found the perfect style of books for me and totally fell in love. I mean, I’m not obsessed or something and I don’t read ten books in one month. But as soon as I end one, I start another one and read it with all my heart and I try to enjoy it as much as I can. I’m not the kind of stressed reader, I really take my time. I try to live the story, get into it, understand the characters and sympathize with them. That’s the kind of reader that I am.

.

So, as you all know, the purpose of a book club is to talk about books. And I want to start by presenting my favorite books of the last year to you. Enjoy.

.

The Girl Online series by Zoe Sugg

I love love love love love these books. Oh my god. Actually, the first book is one of my forever favorites, god I love it so much. I think I read it in about 4 or 5 days, even in school. I remember sitting in class with my teacher doing nothing and me reading the book for the whole hour. And noone even said something, so it was all good. And I cried so much when it ended, but happy tears because it was so beautiful, the same with the second book.

.

Actually, this series is the embodiment of a girls dream. First flying to New York, then meeting a super hot guy and on top of that falling in love and being able to blog about it. Whaaaaat???? And yes, I know, how amazing is that? But of course, there has to be a downside. Penny, the protagonist, has to fight with huge panic attacks and her awkwardness, but also Noah – the hot cute guy – has a secret which could ruin everything. So yeah, exciting exciting. I can only recommend this book series to you. I loved it and I can’t wait to finally read the third one, which is going to be published at the end of the year. I’m exciteeeeeed.

..

Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne

This is another cute book I read this year. And I loved this so much. It’s about a girl named Evie (hello @ Joe Sugg), who has some really complicated mental health problems and who just moved into a new city with a completely new college, where nobody knows that she once went nuts. She wants a fresh start, with new friends, maybe even a boyfriend. And although it seems to work out, not telling her secrets could destroy everything. So, yeah, the story is really exciting. I could’t stop reading. Sometimes all I wanted to do was jump into the book and shake some sense into Evie, but at the end… You know what? You should find that out by yourself.

..

Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard

This is the book I told you about in my Copenhagen haul. Actually, it’s one of the books Zoella presented in her own book club and now I’m doing the same in mine. This is such beautiful book, for real. To be honest, I hate romantic stories. I don’t like romantic movies nor books. Because all they do is make me jealous and then hate everyone who’s in love. But this book is different. I mean, yeah, it’s about love. But love between friends. And this book just gets it. For real. I highly recommend it.

.

The story is about Caddy, a girl looking for some significant incidents, she wants something important and special and exciting to happen. And then she becomes friends with the newly moved Suzanne, who is trying to escape from her past and become somebody new. So the adventure begins. An adventure full of happiness and love, but also full of problems, tears and hurt. At the end Caddy has to chose between good or bad. A decision that could change everything.

.

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

Let’s be honest, who hasn’t either read the book or seen the movie or both? I did both and I regret nothing, because the story changes you. The book is about Charlie, a complicated, introverted and very intelligent freshman, who is looking for some friends at his new school. But being a wallflower isn’t always easy and stepping into this new world full of music, drugs, dramas and new friends turns out to be even more difficult than Charlie thought.

.

This is one of those stories pretty much everyone can somehow relate to. It brings you back to those years in college, where every day felt like a trip on a rollercoaster. In some moments it makes you smile, in others it makes you cry. And I have to be honest and say that it kind of seemed really depressing to me. But also really positive. I think it depends on you, what side you chose. But in the end, it all feels like an homage to life and what could be more beautiful than that?

.

Never Have I Ever by Katie Heaney

I think I already talked about this book in an earlier post. It’s all about the author Katie herself and her life. Her date-less life. Now that she’s twenty-five, Katie starts to question herself and begins to remember all of her past, all the situation she could have got an boyfriend and what exactly went wrong. This path also follows her friendship with her best friend Rylee, who couldn’t be any more different. And to be honest, this book couldn’t be any better. I bought it because I, myself, am still date-less and the moment I saw this book, I just had to read it. To see that there are other people out there go through the same. And this book made me so happy. It’s such a funny, totally relatable and inspiring story and memoir. And not just for people who never had a date, but for everyone who ever struggled to find love. And if that relates to you, I really recommend this book. You won’t regret it.

.

The Life List by Lori Nelson Spielman

This is one of those books you will never be able to forget. Because it’s just too inspiring and full of love and happiness. Although it begins really sad. So, this is about Brett Bohlinger, who seems to have achieved everything she ever wanted – a hot boyfriend, a good job, a cool apartment. And then her mum dies and everything changes. Mostly because her mum, even after her death, set herself the mission to change Bretts life, for good. It all begins with a letter Brett wrote when she was younger, a list of life goals. And her mother wants Brett to achieve all of those in the next year. And so as the journey begins, one thing becomes very clear: sometimes life’s sweetest gifts can be found in the most unexpected places.

.

As you can see, this story is about life and its struggles. As soon as you start reading, you sympathize with Brett. You go through all the ups and downs together with her. Cry with her. Smile with her. And at the end, this book makes you, or made me realize one thing: life is like a rollercoaster, full of positive and negative aspects but at the end, you get out and all you do is smile.

So yeah, there they are. My first books for my book club. I’m planning in continuing this list, adding books and presenting them to you. Actually, I have already planned to buy some books in Brighton on my vacation next week:

  • Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon
  • The Potion Diaries by Amy Alward
  • This Modern Love by Will Darbyshire (go Will, woooo)
  • Harry Potter And The Cursed Child by J. K. Rowling (of course)
  • and more

.

So yeah, there you go. I really really hope enjoyed this post and like my idea of this book club. Oh and please feel free to talk to me or join this “club”. Everyone likes to talk about books, so go on. And until then, as always, thanks for reading. x

My favorite Disney movies

Hola everyone.

I don’t know why, but today I’m in some kind of Disney mood, so I thought why not talk about my favorite movies. And I know, there are a lot of movies out there and to be honest, they are all amazing. The weird thing is, I have to cry every single time I watch a Disney movie. They are just too cute and superemotional. And they make me happy. And yes, I’m 20 years old and I still go to the cinema and watch Disney movies sitting in a room full of young kiddos and their parents. And I regret nothing. Because whatever people tell you, you are never ever ever too old to watch a Disney movie. Never.

.

So, enough said. Let’s take a look at my favorite movies. Enjoy.

.

  • Bambi
    • I can’t even tell you how sad and cute this movie is at the same time. And it’s about animals, which makes it so much cuter. Can you believe this movie was made in 1942? That’s crazyyyy. And so damn amazing.

  • Sleeping Beauty
    • To be honest, Aurora is my favorite Disney princess. I fell in love with how she found her prince and I just wanted to be like her. And she’s just too gorgeous. And seriously, having three fairy godmothers is just too cool.

  • The Aristocats
    • This story is just too cute. And I love the three kittens. Actually, I want to name one of my future cats Toulouse (the name is so damn cute). And I just really like the whole movie, besides the two geese, they are pretty annoying.

  • The Lion King
    • Let’s be honet, who doesn’t like that movie? I still remember when I was younger, mum had this friend who would visit us everyday and watch this movie with me. And this one is actually the first movie I ever watched in the cinema, so it has a special place in my heart. Besides that, the scene when Mufasa died breaks my heart every time and then the cute love story and the super amazing soundtrack heals it again.

  • The Emperor’s New Groove
    • This is seriously one of the funniest and weirdest Disney movies ever made. I mean, it’s about a king who becomes a lama. That is strange enough. And it has so much sarcasm in it and I just love it.

  • Every single Pirates of the Caribbean movie
    • Can you believe that this is a Disney movie? Because I can’t. I just love every single of them. Johnny Depp is breathtaking and super weird. Orlando Bloom is super hot. And Keira Knightley is super cool. It’s just an amazing movie series.

  • Wall-E
    • This the one movie that I watched together with my grandpa. He died after this and every time I watch this movie, it reminds me of him. So it’s really emotional for me. And besides that, the movie is super emotional on its own and super cute. I love it.

  • Tangled
    • I always loved Rapunzel, but this movie is just so cool. And she’s such a strong character and that mess everything so interesting and exciting. I remember that I told my parents I wanted to watch this movie with them And the were like come on, we are adults. And at the end, they loved it and my mum even cried. So yeah, like I said, you’re never too old to watch a Disney movie.

  • Brave
    • I watched this movie one evening alone and I swear, I cried my eyes out. I have a really strong relationship with my mum and this movie is all about that and it just made me so emotional. If you ever have the chance, please watch this movie. Preferably together with your mum.

  • Big Hero 6
    • All I can say is that I really really really want to have my own Baymax. He looks like a huge, super fluffy marshmallow and I can’t resist that. And he’s also just too cute. I really love that movie.

  • Tomorrowland
    • I know, this is another real-life-movie and it’s such a cool movie. I love this kind of sci-fi movies and I just really enjoyed watching it. It makes you dream about the craziest and cooles things and I love that.

  • Inside Out
    • This storyline is just so cool, I can’t believe it. How can somebody come up with that? And it’s also so accurate, it’s fascinating. This one is really a must for everyone who likes Disney.

.

Soooo, there you go. These are my favorite Disney movies. I can already tell you that I forgot one or two, but hey, overall those are the most important ones. If any of you like the same movies as me or want to chat, I’m here. And until then, as always, I hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for reading. x
