Kill Your Darlings – movie review

Hola everyone.

Today I’d like to present you another movie I recently watched. And trust me, you’re going to love it just as much as me.

.

The movie is called Kill Your Darlings and I’d say that it’s a really really special one. It’s about the famous poet Allen Ginsberg and his time in college. The story follows his path through college, while he’s meeting new people and making friends. This is also when he meets Lucien Carr, who shows him the crazy side of life and poetry and together they plan to change the world and break the rules to make it better. But then something really bad happens and everything seems to break apart. Allen is the one who could either solve everything or make it even worse.

.

Exciting, right? I especially liked the way how the movie works. It’s really artsy and full of aesthetic and poetry an philosophy and dreams, with special people who do all the things others are too afraid for. And also the actors are amazing – Daniel Radcliffe as Allen Ginsberg and Dane DeHaan as Lucien Carr. And I have to say that Dane is really really crushworhty, for real. And it’s crazy that he’s already 30, while still looking all young and hot. And they both are breathtaking and perfect for their roles. And lets say, they work better together than I first thought.

.

I also loved how the story is based on true events, on a true human being. And the quotes, oh my god the quotes. There is one that I can say has become one of my most favorite quotes ever:

Allen Ginsberg: Some things, once you’ve loved them, become yours forever./And if you try to let them go… They only circle back and return to you. They become part of who you are…

Lucien Carr: …or they destroy you.

.

How beautiful is that? It makes me want to fall in love and write a sad book about sad love at the same time. So intense and fascinating.

.

Overall, I really really really enjoyed watching this ,movie and I’m happy that movies like that exist, because they are really special and those you’ll probably never forget. So I can just highly recommend it to all of you guys. Oh, and if you’re interested, here’s the trailer. If any of you want to talk about the movie or anything else, I’m here. And until then, enjoy the movie and I hope you enjoyed this post. Oh, and as always, thanks for reading. x

My favorite Disney movies

Hola everyone.

I don’t know why, but today I’m in some kind of Disney mood, so I thought why not talk about my favorite movies. And I know, there are a lot of movies out there and to be honest, they are all amazing. The weird thing is, I have to cry every single time I watch a Disney movie. They are just too cute and superemotional. And they make me happy. And yes, I’m 20 years old and I still go to the cinema and watch Disney movies sitting in a room full of young kiddos and their parents. And I regret nothing. Because whatever people tell you, you are never ever ever too old to watch a Disney movie. Never.

.

So, enough said. Let’s take a look at my favorite movies. Enjoy.

.

  • Bambi
    • I can’t even tell you how sad and cute this movie is at the same time. And it’s about animals, which makes it so much cuter. Can you believe this movie was made in 1942? That’s crazyyyy. And so damn amazing.

  • Sleeping Beauty
    • To be honest, Aurora is my favorite Disney princess. I fell in love with how she found her prince and I just wanted to be like her. And she’s just too gorgeous. And seriously, having three fairy godmothers is just too cool.

  • The Aristocats
    • This story is just too cute. And I love the three kittens. Actually, I want to name one of my future cats Toulouse (the name is so damn cute). And I just really like the whole movie, besides the two geese, they are pretty annoying.

  • The Lion King
    • Let’s be honet, who doesn’t like that movie? I still remember when I was younger, mum had this friend who would visit us everyday and watch this movie with me. And this one is actually the first movie I ever watched in the cinema, so it has a special place in my heart. Besides that, the scene when Mufasa died breaks my heart every time and then the cute love story and the super amazing soundtrack heals it again.

  • The Emperor’s New Groove
    • This is seriously one of the funniest and weirdest Disney movies ever made. I mean, it’s about a king who becomes a lama. That is strange enough. And it has so much sarcasm in it and I just love it.

  • Every single Pirates of the Caribbean movie
    • Can you believe that this is a Disney movie? Because I can’t. I just love every single of them. Johnny Depp is breathtaking and super weird. Orlando Bloom is super hot. And Keira Knightley is super cool. It’s just an amazing movie series.

  • Wall-E
    • This the one movie that I watched together with my grandpa. He died after this and every time I watch this movie, it reminds me of him. So it’s really emotional for me. And besides that, the movie is super emotional on its own and super cute. I love it.

  • Tangled
    • I always loved Rapunzel, but this movie is just so cool. And she’s such a strong character and that mess everything so interesting and exciting. I remember that I told my parents I wanted to watch this movie with them And the were like come on, we are adults. And at the end, they loved it and my mum even cried. So yeah, like I said, you’re never too old to watch a Disney movie.

  • Brave
    • I watched this movie one evening alone and I swear, I cried my eyes out. I have a really strong relationship with my mum and this movie is all about that and it just made me so emotional. If you ever have the chance, please watch this movie. Preferably together with your mum.

  • Big Hero 6
    • All I can say is that I really really really want to have my own Baymax. He looks like a huge, super fluffy marshmallow and I can’t resist that. And he’s also just too cute. I really love that movie.

  • Tomorrowland
    • I know, this is another real-life-movie and it’s such a cool movie. I love this kind of sci-fi movies and I just really enjoyed watching it. It makes you dream about the craziest and cooles things and I love that.

  • Inside Out
    • This storyline is just so cool, I can’t believe it. How can somebody come up with that? And it’s also so accurate, it’s fascinating. This one is really a must for everyone who likes Disney.

.

Soooo, there you go. These are my favorite Disney movies. I can already tell you that I forgot one or two, but hey, overall those are the most important ones. If any of you like the same movies as me or want to chat, I’m here. And until then, as always, I hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for reading. x

Cinema favorites

Hola everyone.

So, I have this special habit of checking the website of my local cinema, to see if they updated it and added some cool new movies they will be screening.

.

The thing is, sometimes, when I have the time, I go on youtube and literally watch every single new movie trailer that looks interesting to me. So I know every movie before they even appear on the cinema website, which means I wait until they put those movies up that I want to see. Sometimes I’m lucky and they do it. Sometimes I’m not and the movie is too “special” to play in a local cinema, although it literally the biggest cinema in the whole federal state. But whatever.

.

Anywayyyy, as I’m so into movies and trailers and all the crazy amazing movies that are just waiting to be screened this year, I thought why not present you those movies I’m mostly looking forward to. Those movies I literally can’t wait to watch. My favorites of 2016. Enjoy.

.

(it’s a Marvel movie, what else should I say?)

  • Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

(it plays in the fantastic Harry Potter world, which is basically my childhood, so yeah, please hurry up movie)

  • Lights Out

(I think this one will actually be the scariest movie of this year; I mean, everyone was afraid of the dark when they were younger and this movie will bring back that fear all over again)

  • High Rise

(the trailer looks strange, but cool, so I’m really curious to see what it’s about)

  • Hello My Name is Doris

(oh god, this is literally the perfect mother-daughter movie)

  • Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

(the trailer looks so cool, I just have to watch the movie)

  • The Founder

(Michael Keaton is such an amazing actor and I always wanted to know the story of McDonalds, although I’m not the biggest fan of it, and this movie is all about that)

  • Swiss Army Man

(I love Daniel Radcliffe, so I’ll give this pretty strange looking movie a go; I’m really excited about it)

  • Snowden

(honestly, I don’t know much about this whole Snowden story, but the trailer looks so thrilling that I just need to know more – see more)

  • The Dressmaker

(I just love fashion and this one looks really cool with amazing actors)

  • Pets

(pretty much the funniest animation trailer I’ve ever seen)

  • Café Society

(I love Woody Allen movie, there’s nothing more to say)

  • Touched With Fire

(I watched the trailer yesterday and it looks really interesting and made me curious, so I’d really like to watch that movie)

  • The Lady in the Van

(I just love Maggie Smith and English movies and movies that have a true story imbedded and this movie combines all of that perfectly)

  • Before I Wake

(another really scary looking horror movie with an original story and idea)

  • Kill Your Friends

(that’s one of those movies you watch the trailer of, think “what the hell was that???” and then just HAVE to see the movie)

  • Demolition

(I’m a huge fan of Jake Gyllenhaal and the movie looks interesting too, so I really want to see that one)

  • The Purge 3: Election Year

(the first and second part were freaking amazing, so it’s a must for me)

  • The Meddler

(another perfect mother-daughter movie, seriously)

  • Louder Than Bombs

(one of those drama movies that I really want to watch, although I’m more into horror and action)

.

There you, those are my upcoming favorites of 2016, so I’m REALLY looking forward to these movies. Unfortunately, I have the feeling that most of the movies won’t be played in the local cinema, but I can still look out for the in the city, so we’ll see. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post and found some movies you are interested it. If any of you want to talk about movies or anything else, I’m here, and until then, as always, thanks for reading x

#TeamIronMan

Hola everyone.

The wait is over. FINALLY. I hope some of you guys already know what I’m talking about looking at the title of this post, but I will tell you all anyway.

.

The new Captain America movie has finally been released and as the HUGE Marvel fan I am, I already went out to see it as soon as I could. And oh my god, let me tell you, that movie is literally so damn amazing, that I have no words.

.

First of all, I think I should explain my love for Marvel. It all started with Iron Man, that’s why I am and always will be Team Iron Man, forever and always. So, he is literally the reason I got into this whole Marvel Cinematic Universe thing and got pretty much obsessed with it. Completely. I have literally seen every single movie since Iron Man came out (except Ant-Man, but I will see that one in two weeks, so don’t judge). And I just fell in love with the movies more and more and more and more. I couldn’t get enough and I can’t either now. I think I never will.

.

Anyway, that’s the reason I was looking forward to seeing Captain America: Civil War since I got out of the cinema after watching The Avengers 2. And I can tell you, that’s a looooong time for a Marvel fangirl like me. So I just waited. And time passed and the release day came. And I went crazy. Completely.

.

I think I have never been THAT excited for a movie before. It was like I was waiting for a concert to start. I just wanted to get into that seat and start the movie. I think I also felt like this because of the story:

Soooo, the movie starts right after the incidents of The Avengers 2, with the whole Sokovia and Ultron thing. You can probably tell that a lot of people were killed or hurt in that battle and the government can’t let that happen another time. They want to monitor and in some way control our beloved heroes. And that’s when the team breaks apart. On the one side we have Captain America with his supporters, who state that they can’t just look away when something bad happens until the government allows them to do something about it. On the other side we have my fave Iron Man with his team, who understand what the government wants and also want to prevent any actions by the Avengers that could hurt any more people. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like they can find a way to get together, so the epic battle begins and noone really knows who is going to win.

.

Seriously, how cool is that? When I first saw the trailer, I was speechless (oh, here’s the link if you haven’t seen it: youtube.com). Mostly because I was so scared for Tony. I don’t know what I would do if something happens to him. And of course, because of all of the new characters. Black Panther? Ant-Man? SPIDERMAN????? Epiiiiiiic (I know, I’m overly fangirling right now).

.

So, you can see why I was so excited. But let’s get to the most important part – the movie, of course. IT WAS BREATHTAKING. Like, it’s just a huge emotional rollercoaster. At one moment you seriously can’t handle all the epicness, at another one you feel tears streaming down your face, but then something funny happens and you just have to laugh and then it gets serious again and oh my god, it’s just so exciting and thrilling and amazing. Apart from all the amazing and exciting and supercool action sequences, there’s also a really emotional and totally unexpected story hidden that just makes the movie even better, but I won’t spoil anything, of course. But seriously, if any of you get the slightest chance to watch this movie, please do it, for your own sake. You won’t regret it, I swear (unless you don’t like superheroes or epic movies or haven’t seen any of the movies before, because then you will literally have no idea of what is going on).

.

I seriously can’t wait for all the other movies Marvel has planned and now that phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has started with this huge epic movie, I’m more than excited for what’s to come. If any of you are as much in love with Marvel as me, I would literally love to talk to you. And please, let me know which team you are – Team Cap or Team Iron Man? I’m really curious. And until then, I can just tell you to please go and watch that movie and hope that you enjoyed this post and getting to know my crazy nerdy fangirl side. And as always, thanks for reading. x    #TeamIronMan

.

Ps: I just bought this little Funko Pop Iron Man figure and I just can’t handle its cuteness. Look how cute. I can’t wait to receive it and put in on my desk.

My horror show

Hola everyone.

I know, I don’t need to talk about my obsession with movies anymore, but I just need to mention that there’s one special genre that I’m in love with. One which people wouldn’t probably think that I like and love when they see or get to know me. And I’m not talking about Marvel or action thriller… noooooo… I’m talking about horror. Pure, thrilling, horrifying, super scary horror. Especially the psychological, demonic ones. I’m totally obsessed with those.

.

So, in order to celebrate my love and obsession for good horror movies, whereas I try to watch every good one out there, I thought why not make a list of my favorite movies for those of you who are as much in love with horror as I am. Enjoy.

.

  • The Conjuring (my number one and scariest movie I have ever watched; seriously, I never wanted to leave the cinema that badly and I can’t wait for the second part in a few months)
  • The Woman In Black (Daniel Radcliffe is amazing and I’ve never been so horrified at the end of a movie; although it’s scary as hell it’s a total must)
  • The Strangers (I watched it at the beginning of my horror movie obsession and I was scared for my life, I couldn’t even look out of the window)
  • The Insidious series (seriously one of the best horror series out there, a total must and personally I think the first and the third part were the best ones)
  • The Sinister series (what should I even tell you? It’s scary as hell and I just wanted to hide in my sweater through the whole two movies; every horror fan should still watch it though)
  • The Cabin In The Woods (a really different horror movie and I love it; the elevator part is my favorite although I was a little bit sick afterwards; oh and not to forget it’s the only movie where just the title appearing at the beginning made me jump)
  • The Purge series (for me, one of the most creative and innovative but also slightly crazy horror concepts out there; I often think what would happen when there was for real a day where all kinds of crime would be legal… personally, I don’t even want to know; anyway, an must for horror fans and exciting for me, as there’s another part coming up)
  • Deliver Us From Devil (another exorcist movie with a thrilling story and a dark atmosphere and I really loved watching that one)
  • Crimson Peak (another pretty different horror movie with a kind of magical love story in the middle of a scary house and ghosts wandering around; another total must from my point of view)
  • Gallows (I remember sitting in the cinema with my friend completely alone and watching most if the movie through my fingers in front of my face, so yeah; still awesome though and a total adrenaline boost)
  • Nightmare On Elm Street (one of the first horror movies I watched and loved it from the first second on, especially the huge plot at the end)
  • The Ward (I totally love horror movies which have a complex story and a plot and this one is the perfect example for such movies; although it’s super scary, I can only recommend it and I just watched it again two days ago)
  • Oculus (while watching that movie, neither me or my parents exactly knew what was going on, this movie literally plays with your mind, but that’s probably what makes this movie that good)
  • The Hills Have Eyes (usually I don’t watch movies that are bloody and just plainly gross, but I remember my parents watching it and telling me to go and do something else because this wasn’t a movie for me and a few years later I watched it myself and was kind of fascinated, don’t ask why; it’s an amazing horror movie but still brutal and gross as hell)
  • From Hell (one of my all time favorites, as the story is completely thrilling and Johnny Depp is in it, so it can’t be anything other than amazing)

.

Okaaay, I think that’s it… and yeah I know, it’s long, but I think that shows how many horror movies I watch (is that even healthy anymore? no idea…). Another thing I just noticed – horror movies have the best posters ever, they all look so cool. Never realized that. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my list and if any of you are as obsessed with horror as me and want to talk, I’m here. And as always, thanks for reading. x

Another movie recommendation

Hola everyone.

As you all probably know by now, I’m totally in love with going to the cinema and watching as many amazing movies as possible. I basically live in my local cinema, to be honest.

.

So, today I went out to see another movie – Concussion. First of all I need to tell you that I’m a huuuuge fan of movies that are based on a true story. I don’t know why, but knowing that the story you are watching on that screen and that you are living for those 2 hours truly happened changes literally everything. Every scene has so much more power, every event that happens means so much more, it just pushes the whole movie to a completely different level.

.

And yeah, Concussion is based on a true story. So, what’s the movie about?

Concussion is all about Dr. Bennet Omalu (Will Smith), a Nigerian forensic pathologist, who discovers a special brain damage called chronic traumatic encephalopathy – short CTE –  which professional football players suffer and in the movie also die and commit suicide from. Of course we wants to tell the world about his discovery, but the National Football League (NFL) tries its hardest to stop him from doing that. And of course the inevitable can’t be prevented and it comes to a fight between the doctor, who just wants to tell the truth, and the million dollar company, which would do everything to protect their so beloved sport.

.

Overall, I’m sure Concussion is one of the best movies of 2016. Will Smith totally rocks his role and I couldn’t be happier to have him back on the big screen – I always had the opinion that Will is one of the best actors out there. Apart from that, the story is highly interesting. I’m sure you all know those moments when you’re sitting in the cinema and watching a movie but suddenly you completely lose every attention and can’t concentrate on the movie anymore. At least I know that too well. But this time, that never happened. In fact, I could’t get enough of it, I soaked up every small detail of the story, like a sponge.

.

The whole concept of the movie is amazing from the beginning until the very end. From the start you sympathize with Dr. Bennet, the kinda weird, but cute, doctor, who speaks with his “patients” – dead people, ofc – in order to find out what happened to them. And then you just get completely caught up in the fight between the truth and the lies.

.

So, in conclusion, I can only recommend that movie with all of my heart and my love for movies. If any of you get the chance to watch the movie in the cinema in the next few weeks, trust me and go and watch it – I’ll leave the link for trailer down below. If you like movies with some sort of dramatic aspect and movies which are based on a true story, this one is the perfect pick for you. So, have fun with the movie and as always, thanks for reading. x
