Me-time and de-stressing

Hola everyone.

Today I want to talk about something that should be important for everybody and that really means a lot to me, actually. And yes, you guessed it – I’m talking about ways I de-stress and relax and calm myself down. Actually, Zoella again inspired me to do this post. I wanted to write this one for weeks now, but watching her lastest video (link) really pushed me to finally do it. So, here we go.

.

Nowadays, I think it’s honestly really hard to completely switch off and de-stress, mostly because being online and just basically on surrounds and follows us the whole day and, for most of us, night too. I mean, I know, smartphones and tv shows and movies and the social media are all gifts from heaven, but sometimes, especially smartphones, have nothing than a bad impact on us. Personally, I try to not have my phone next to me the whole day, for example I turn it off at night and keep it in another room. I actually can’t sleep if my phone is in the same room when I go to sleep. And sometimes I even have a day off from my phone. I just don’t turn it on at all and I have to say, it really relaxes me a lot. And yes, you seriously have more time for other things if you don’t waste it being online all the time and reading a Facebook feed for the third time.

.

Oh and of course, today, stress is something normal for most of us. There’s always something to do and I think that for some people, it’s really difficult to separate themselves from all the do-do-lists and work and stress, which is also a reason I wanted to write this post. So, let’s get to the most important part, which is my ways of de-stressing and winding down and getting some me-time.

.

  • Taking a bath
    • This is actually one of the most important things for me if I want to relax, because I can literally wash all of the stress of the day off and clean my mind. And also, who doesn’t love soaking a little bit and lying in some nice warm water before going to bed. It really gets you in that chilly and sleepy mood.

.

  • Going for a walk with Molly or going for a short run
    • I think that any physical activity can help you de-stress and clean your mind. I especially love going for a run when I’m angry or when I have the feeling that I’ll explode any time. And getting some fresh air at all just really gets me down.

.

  • Taking some photographs
    • You know how much my camera means to me and since I got it, taking pictures became a really important part of my life and one of my biggest and most important and intense hobbies. And I noticed how walking around with my camera and taking some nice pictures really calms me down, because I fully concentrate one this one thing and everything else just fades away.

.

  • Cuddling with Peaches
    • I think that pets are really important if you want to live a happy life. Especially when it comes to me and Peaches, we really have a special bond and basically stick together all the time. The past week my day started with a huge cuddle session with Peaches and actually there aren’t a lot of things that relax me as much as holding Peaches in ma arms and hearing her purr.

.

  • Cooking or baking something
    • Food. What else gets you relaxed if food doesn’t? I don’t really know how it happened but through time cooking and baking became a really important hobby of mine and I just love it. Taking raw products and turning them into something delicious. I especially love meals that just get you into this cozy and warm mood, like pasta, stew or a nice soup. And eating all that good stuff afterwards is just the most amazing part, let’s be honest.

.

  • Watching a good movie or tv series
    • Movies and tv series just really mean a lot to me, you know that. But I think when I want to forget about my problems or all of the stress, watching a nice movie or a good tv series really gets me down and makes me forget about everything else. Except when I have to really finish college stuff or study for an exam, then watching a movie just makes everything worse. Because I won’t feel any better before I don’t finish it all.

.

  • Reading a book or listening to music
    • I think that especially listening to music and doing nothing while doing that and reading a good book really helps me relax and wind down before going to bed. Both, books and music really do mean a lot to me and help me de-stress is just a really nice bonus.

.

  • Talking to my friends or family
    • To be honest, talking to someone about all the things that stress me out and make me nervous, really helps me a lot. Or even talking to you guys about it really helps me. Because it gets all the stuff off of my mind and that’s just amazing.

.

  • Sleeping
    • Actually, there’s nothing to add to this. Just sleep. That’s pretty much the best way to relax. So please, try to get a good sleep every night, it really helps.

.

So guys, there you go. Those are my ways of relaxing and winding down and getting some me-time. I hope I could help you guys with some of my tips and also, maybe some of you do the same to relax, which is awesome. Oh and if any of you want to talk to me about de-stressing or anything else, I’m here. And until then, I hope you enjoyed this post and, as always, thanks for reading. x

My favorite trends right now

Holy everyone.

Today I want to talk about – you guessed it – fashion. What a surprise.

But for real, you know that I love fashion. It’s one of my favorite topics to talk about and it’s part of my life every single day. Personally, I love surfing through online shops and social media, just to see what the latest trends are. And that brings us to my list I want to present to you. My list of my favorite trends right now (or of this year). Enjoy.

.

  • Off-shoulder tops and dresses
    • I literally love it. I’ve always been a fan of free shoulders and let’s be honest, it makes you look great. It’s summery, comfy and superstylish.

  • Boyfriend or mum jeans
    • To be honest, who doesn’t have one of these at home? They look so damn cool and they are so damn comfy. It’s incredible. And I could wear them every day.

  • Anything that’s boho and clothes you wear and immeditaley think “I could totally wear that at a festival”
    • I looooove festival looks. Forever 21 has one part of the store dedicated to this kind of clothes. And I just admire it. They make you look like cool fairys and there’s nothing you could wear that gives you more of a festival vibe than such clothes.

  • Patched jeans and denim jackets
    • They are the same as boyfriend jeans. But with patches on. The same with denim jackets. To be honest, Zoella introduced me to that style, but until now I unfortunately haven’t found a great looking pair for me, but there’s still hope left.

  • Long summer dresses
    • They are like the festival vibe clothes. Nothing suits summer more than long dresses. Especially with flowers on, maybe with cuts at the shoulders. All of that. I love it.

  • Hats
    • I love hats. I have my own special one I bought in Camden in London, so it means pretty much to me. And actually, I just wore it today. So that’s a total yes from me.

  • Any flowy and cute crop tops (basically every crop top at Forever 21)
    • Let’s be honest. Crop tops are magic. Any kind of crop tops. Turtle necks, off-shoudler, riped ones, just literally ever crop top. I can’t get enough of them. And if you’re looking for some, any Forever 21 store is the right place for you.

  • Lace crop tops aka bralettes
    • I love bralettes, especially the ones with lace. But unfortunately I don’t like the nip thing going on, so I’m still on the hunt for bralettes that are a little bit padded. So, if any of you have an idea where I could get those, please help your girl out and hit me up. Thaaaaanks.

  • Round (sun)glasses
    • Have you seen the new Ray Ban sunglasses? And the new glasses Pewdiepie is wearing? What do they have in common? Exactly, they are round. And they slay. Any type of round glasses look like bomb. Full stop.

  • Dungarees
    • Oh my god, I love dungarees. Actually, they are something I wore when I was little and now I’m wearing them again. And I love it. Who would have thought that?

  • Band shirts
    • That’s pretty much the best trend for me. Because I collect band shirts. I buy a shirt at nearly every single concert I’m attending. From TØP to Ed Sheeran, I’ve got them all. So in about 20 years, when my children are in the right age, I’ll give them my shirts and they will be the coolest kids around, because they are wearing real, vintage band merch.

.
Soooo, that’s my list. I know, I probably forgot like 5, but I think it should be alright. If any of you want to chat, about fashion or anything else. Ooooor if any of you know a good place for shopping sprees, I’m here and waiting patiently. And until then, as always, I hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for reading. x

My picnic party

Hola everyone.

As you all know, I’m a reallyyyyy huge youtube-fangirl and I watch a lot of different youtubers. One of those youtubers is the so well-known Zoe Sugg aka Zoella. A week ago or something like that she posted a stunning video of a picnic party she threw for and with her friends and I was fascinated from the first second on. I wanted to be able to throw such a fabulous party too, I just needed a reason.

.

And last week I got it. This is actually the biggest news EVER, so get excited. A few months ago I applied for an internship at a super famous media and TV company in Berlin. And last week they actually sent me an email that said that I got accepted. Which meaaaans that I’m actually moving to Berlin in November. HOLY MOTHER OF GOD. I know, it’s faaaaar to crazy, I still haven’t realized it. I’m not even able to just imagine it, it’s just so overwhelming. So yeah, actually fulfilling that huuuuuge dream of mine and move to another city for a few months was quite a good reason so throw a little party for me and my best friend.

.

I have to say, it was awesome. The weather was perfect, I tried to decorate our garden (not as nice as Zoella, but oh well), made some punch, brought snacks and prepared a noodle salad. And then we just sat outside in the sun, enjoying ourselves and the world. It was perfect. And even Molly joined us. I’m really happy that I got to do it. And I can just tell you that if any of you ever get the chance to do a picnic, DO IT. Seriously. It’s so cool and nice and relaxing to sit in the sun, chat with your friends and just enjoy life. And you don’t even need much – a blanket, a nice spot in a field, park or garden, some snacks and drinks and of course your friends. And that’s everything you need to have a evening you’ll remember for a loooong time. If any of you want to know more about my picnic or want recipes for the punch or the salad, just hit me up. And until then I hope you enjoyed this post and the pics down below and of course, as always, thanks for reading. x
