My favourite photographers

Hola everyone.

How are you all doing today? First of all, I want to apologize for not posting anything this Monday. I won’t tell you a big, long story of why I didn’t write anything, because, in the end, it all comes down to the fact that in the past few weeks, I haven’t really been that well, emotionally. Which then caused a massive lack of motivation, inspiration and creativity. So, that’s why I didn’t post anything. I just didn’t know what to write. But I’ve been trying to get better, crawl out of the hole I’m in – or was in, hopefully – and I’m sure just writing this now will help me with that. It’s always about getting back up again, right?

.

My friend always tells me that I live in extremes. When I’m happy, I’m basically the happiest person on earth. It’s like I’m wearing pink glasses. Everything feels like I’m in a dream and high up in the clouds, far away from any worries or stress. And frankly, it’s the best feeling ever. But I can fall just as steeply and massively once I get out of my clouds. Because when I’m sad, I’m really really sad. The kind of sad where I can just break out into tears at any point, whenever I feel like it. So, I’m either extremely happy or extremely sad. With me, there simply is no in-between. And right now, I’m trying my best to push myself off the ground, out of my hole of worries and angst, so I can get back up to my clouds, where I usually spent most of my life (thank god).

.

So, yeah, that’s kind of the project right now. Thankfully, my family and friends have been trying their best to help me as well and I’ve been directing my attention more and more to the prospect of attending Sziget festival in less than two weeks and then getting my new tattoo. I honestly cannot wait to finally get there again. To see Ed and Marty and Ty and Josh and all of these other super amazing bands and artists. For a whole freaking week. Can you believe that? I’m really going to a festival, for a whole week. Seven days of pure excitement and fantastic music. I can’t wait.

.

Okay, but now enough of that. My big life story isn’t why we are all here today. No, no. Today, we’ve come together to once again celebrate the amazingness that is photography and the awesome artists behind the lenses. Last time we had the phenomenal Brad Heaton (click me) and today will be all about the one and only Will Darbyshire. Some of you, who’ve been following my blog for a long while now, will probably recognize the name from some of my previous posts. Will has always been one of my biggest inspirations and idols when it comes to photography (I’d actually do quite lots of crazy stuff to get to his level of talent) and he just continues to blow me away with every single picture. So, here’s to Will and the heavens he creates.

.

As you can probably guess, Will is a super amazing filmmaker and photographer from London. He works online predominately, posting his pictures on his website and Instagram account and making videos on YouTube, which is also how I got to know him. Basically, his videos are nothing but a short holiday trip for the mind, without you having to even leave your house, and I fell in love with him and his talent the moment I saw his channel. I think, out of all his different videos, the one about his trip to New Zealand has to be my favourite one. I could watch it over and over again and I’d still love it to pieces. And I don’t think I have to add that it always makes me want to travel to NZ as well. I mean, just look at it. How dreamy does that place look? Oh my god.

.

.

But, obviously, Will’s talent doesn’t just show through his clips. I mean, he really is a fantastic filmmaker, but his photos. Just wow. Somehow he manages to make his pictures look both super minimalistic and chill and extremely sophisticated and luxurious. In short, he takes the pictures I want to take. I simply admire his aesthetic. But I’ll just let his photos do the talking now. Please enjoy.

.

.

Obviously, I can just recommend all of you guys to check Will out. For the bookworms among you, he also wrote a book a few years ago, where he collected letters from people from all across the globe. You can probably guess that it’s absolutely beautiful and totally worth to check it out. So, I can really recommend that. And, as always, please let me know your thoughts and I wish you all a nice week and thanks for reading. x

My favorite YouTubers

Hola everyone.

I probably already mentioned it a few posts ago, but why not talk about it again? So, I love YouTube. Who doesn’t? The first months when I got from home from university and didn’t have any movie to watch, I looked onto YouTube and searched for some good YouTubers to binge. And I found them.

.

Today I watch them pretty much every day, always depending on who just uploaded a new video. As you can probably guess by know, I want to dedicate this post to my favorite YouTubers, who have slowly become more than just people sitting in front of their cameras to me.

.

Joe Sugg aka ThatcherJoe

Joe was the first YouTuber I watched on a regular basis, because I fell in love with his videos from the first second on. I’m a huge fan of his editing style and how natural he seems in his videos. Every video is full of humor and funny stupidity and to be honest, it seems he’d do literally everything just to make his “sugglets” happy – as you can see in his Dare Sugg videos. Furthermore, I love how diverse he is, as he has his regular channel where he posts a video every sunday – the so-called SuggSunday – and a gaming channel and also a vlogging channel, while he still strongly denies that he’s a daily vlogger.

My most favorite videos from him are probably the collabs, in which he either films the videos with one of his friends or his sister Zoe and they are always the funniest ones. Just to mention it, Joe’s clique is for sure the coolest one, as aaaaaall of his friends are YouTubers and Conor – my Conor – is of of his best mates, so I probably don’t have to say that I’m more than jealous.

And last but not least, I think Joe has a great personality and would be the best boyfriend ever, as he calls himself a total gentleman. Oh, and he’s really hot, don’t even start arguing with me about that.

Will Darbyshire aka WillDarbyshireFilm

To be honest, Will is someone really special. If I had to describe his channel and videos, I would probably say that they’re the oasis full of beauty and creativity of YouTube. He’s completely different from all the other YouTubers I watch, because his videos consist either of him talking about deep personal stuff or it’s a video only made of the breathtaking pictures he takes when he’s traveling the world.

Even though I’ve only known Will for one or two months now, I immediately put him to my faves, because his videos really trigger something special in me – hope, creativity and all of that stuff. And when it comes to photography, Will is my biggest inspiration and idol. His videos and pictures are pure art in my eyes and my goal is to get close to his talent. Oh and in my opinion, I think if someone ever wanted to create a male version of me, Will would probably be the result, so that’s pretty cool.

Felix Kjellberg aka PewDiePie

Last but not least, here’s my third fave, PewDiePie. Who would’ve guessed it? I don’t even know where to start. Probably at the aspect that I’m a fan of the biggest YouTuber on this pretty planet and I can’t really articulate why.

The first thing that’s a little bit weird, is that I’m not even a gamer myself. I just love watching Pewds acting like a complete dork in front of the camera while playing one of the strangest games ever. So yeah, I think the fact that he makes me laugh every second is the most prominent reason for watching his videos. Apart of that I love how personal he is and how he interacts with his “bros”. He talks directly to his fans, asks question and seriously waits in his videos so that everyone has time to answer it for themselves in front of the laptop. Oh and he flirts with them with his endless winks and I can just say, even though he’s got a girlfriend, it’s really cute. It really gives you the feeling that he’s not just some kind of internet star who’s completely unreachable and unattainable. I really appreciate that, truly.

All in all, Pewds is crazy dork who likes to play even more crazy games and who’s biggest goal is to make his bros happy and to keep them as close as possible. And even though it might seem stupid to spent hours watching him playing games, I wouldn’t want to miss it, as he really puts a smile on my face every time.

 .

So yeah, there they are. My three favorite YouTubers. Of course I watch more than those three, for example Jack Maynard, Caspar Lee, Markiplier, Zoella, Marcus Butler and of Conor, but he posts his covers on his channel, so I left him out in this category, he would have been on the first place if not.

.

If any of you also love YouTube as much as me and want to talk about some of your or my or our favorite YouTubers, I’m here and looking forward to hearing from you. And as always, thanks for reading. x

Who am I?

Hola everyone.

I’m an introvert. More specifically, I’m an INFJ, which means I’m Introverted, iNtuitive, Feeling and Judging, according to the Carl G. Jung’s and Briggs Myers’ theory of psychological types and test I took to find out, which personality type I belong to.

.

So what does that mean exactly?

INFJs are described as complex characters, who often tend to be idealists. Furthermore, they are doers as well as dreamers, which I can totally support, as I probably spend like half of the day dreaming about things and building up different scenarios in my head. It’s also said, that INFJs are deeply concerned about their relationships with the people in their lives and the world in total, but as true introverts, they often just have a few friends, but those are the ones, they really trust completely and the ones, they want to keep forever (so true).

.

Onto that, INFJs are said to be highly empathic and to have the clearest insights of all the other personality types into the motivations of others, for good and evil. At this point, I have to say, that I’m shocked how true this all is. I often feel what people want or how they feel, I don’t even have to ask them what is going on inside of them, because I already know.

.

The thing, that completes the personality type description for me and gives me the confirmation that I am really an INFJ, is that for people of that personality type self-expression comes more easily on paper, which ends up in good writing skills. And this is so damn true. I remember that when my mum and me argued, I always went to my room and wrote her a letter in which I expressed all the feelings I had. They often were like two pages long. I was 12 when that started. And today, I text my mum after an argument – I can’t say she likes to read them all, but I just have to write it down.

.

Another thing that comforted me in all the past decisions I have made, is the part when the typical hobbies and the most fitting jobs are presented. I love writing, listening to music, taking pictures and reading books and those are the exact hobbies which are in the personality description. This leads us to the jobs, where positions like teacher and photographer and writer and jobs in the public media are written down and it couldn’t be more accurate, seriously. A few years ago, I wanted to become an English teacher, but that changed after some time and today I want to become a journalist and maybe an author, if it all works out like I want it to. And onto that, I’ve fallen so deeply in love with photography and taking pictures and holding my camera in my hands, that I’m dreaming about selling my pictures one day. It’s so incredible for me how perfect this all is.

.

All in all I couldn’t be happier to have taken that test, as it fits like a perfect pair of jeans. Before I took the test, I didn’t really think that the result would be that accurate. After all, I have to thank Will Darbyshire, who talked about the test in one of his videos and made me curious about it.

.

I think it’s fascinating that today we can take tests to find out how our personality works and also how the people around us work on the inside. The test really helped me to understand myself more. I know that I’m an introvert, that I would always chose watching a good movie over going to a party, that I can express myself better in pictures and written texts and that I’m highly sensitive to the world around me, but now I know, how all these things work together and why I am the person I am. And to be honest, I’m really happy that I am the way I am today and I’m glad that my parents and friends and all the past experiences and events have brought me to where I am today and have shaped my personality to how it is now.

.

If any of you want to take the test, I’ll leave the link at the end of the post, have fun with it. And if any of you want to watch Will’s video or want to find out who he is or simply want to watch some of the most inspiring videos on the internet, I’ll also leave the link to his channel down below.

.

If someone wants to talk to me about the personality types or has the same personality as me, I would be more than happy to talk to you and exchange thoughts and experiences. I’m here. And if some of you actually take the test, I would be very glad to hear about the results, as I’m really interested in the the test and in getting to know you all better. But until then, thanks for reading. x
