Oldschool music

Hola everyone.

This blog post is again dedicated to music, but this time it’s about special music. About special songs, that we probably all know to well. Either from our childhood, from movies we watched and just from pure life. Yep, it’s time to talk about the most epic old school songs (most of them are probably not even that old, but who cares). And again, here are some of my favorites:

  • Heroes – David Bowie (it always reminds me of the movie “Perks of being a wallflower”)
  • Fire – Kasabian (saw it live last year at the Sziget festival – the crowd went totally crazy)
  • Someday – The Strokes (it just makes me feel so happy and full of life)
  • Mr. Brightside – The Killers (to be honest, who doesn’t like that song?)
  • Wonderwall – Oasis (an anthem right there)
  • Teenage Dirtbag – Wheatus (One Direction totally rocked that cover)
  • Where is my mind – Pixies (it just makes you feel supercool; a song perfect for an dramatic ending scene on a movie)
  • Uprising – Muse (basically the only song by music I actually listen to)
  • This love – Maroon 5 (the moment I first heard the song was the moment I fell in love with band)
  • Always where I need to be – The Kooks (a totally addicting song)
  • What Ever Happened – The Strokes (again a really amazing song by The Strokes)
  • Sweet Diposition – The Temper Trap (that’s literally the perfect song to listen to in the car at night)
  • September – Earth, Wind & Fire (the perfect song to get you into the party mode)
  • I Write Sins Not Tragedies – Panic! At The Disco (that band always ruled; my favorite   line is “Haven’t you people ever heard of closing the goddamn door?”)
  • Dance, Dance – Fall Out Boy (one of the best alternative rock bands out there, ever single song is breathtakingly good)
  • The Funeral – Band of Horses (the first song lines I learned on my guitar; always reminds me of How I met your mother)

Sooo, I guess that’s it. Those are my favorite “old school” songs, although most of them weren’t even produced before 2005, but hey. They kinda gives me that special vintage feeling and brings me back to times when that kind of music played on the radio and I was a lot younger.

Hope you like the list and I would also love to hear about some of your favorites, I’m always open to new music. Thanks for reading. x

How to survive exam week

Hola everyone.

Well well… Exam week is “finally” here and it’s also time for my first ever exams at university. You can probably imagine my excitement, that comes in good and bad ways. And although it’s only the start of my university-exam-career, I had time to understand how the week of hell works. So, here are some tips from me to you on how to survive exams:

  • Start soon enough, don’t wait until it’s too late and you get the stress of your life, and yeah, I know, noone likes to study
  • Eat and drink enough (it’s just exams and no reason to stop caring about yourself)
  • Don’t let anyone else stress you
  • Noone cares if you look tired, seriously, we are all tired
  • Your friends will understand if you don’t go to that one party
  • Don’t stress yourself too much, they’re just exams, you won’t die if you fail
  • Grades don’t matter that much (I know, because I had all straight As at my A-levels and noone cares until today)
  • Don’t stop doing what you love because of exams, that will just make you sad
  • Sleep is precious and you need it, don’t cut down on it
  • Your brain is your new best friend
  • Listening to music can help you to calm down (at least it does that for me)
  • Even if it’s stressful, you need to chill and rest a little
  • Procrastinating is bad for you, even if the fly on the wall is much more interesting than the book in front of you
  • Your social life is still important, don’t isolate yourself completely
  • Take breaks there and then
  • Just breath
  • You can do anything you want
  • You are strong enough
  • JUST DO IT

I hope this helps some of you surviving the week of hell. I know you can do it, just believe in yourself. Exams are just small hurdles on the exciting way called life. And we will all overcome them. So, good luck with your exams and thanks for reading. x

My music list

Hola everyone.

As you probably know from my “get to know me” post, I’m highly in love with music. Like, I seriously can’t live without it, I just can’t. I’m even listening to some good old Panic! at the disco right now. I’d say, that proves my point.

And as I made a list of my favourite movies, I thought about doing the same for my favourite bands, singers and so on. So, here you go. My favourite musicians.

    • Fall Out Boy (you really miss A LOT, if you don’t listen to them)
    • Two Door Cinema Club (my first real concert and the reason for my concert addiction)
    • Conor Maynard (my bae… you’ll hear more about him. A LOT more)
    • Saint Raymond (if you don’t know him, what are you waiting for?)
    • Justin Bieber (everyone likes him, don’t even start denying that)
    • One Direction (they’re amazing, they just are)
    • Troye Sivan (the youtuber with the fascinating music)
    • Twenty One Pilots (I just love everything they do… can’t wait to see them live next month)
    • Ed Sheeran (don’t even know what to tell you… his voice is pure heaven and he has more talent than I could ever imagine. His concert is still something I think back to every single day)
    • 5 Seconds of Summer (because who doesn’t want four crazy Aussies in their life?)
    • Martin Garrix (probably the cutest DJ out there. His snapchat is EVERYTHING)
    • The Vamps (one of the reasons why I always say that English guys are the BEST)
    • OneRepublic (the band I have always loved and always will)
    • The 1975 (the little sprinkle of weirdness and alternative music I need in my life)
    • Avicii (his concerts are seriously the best and biggest party ever)
    • Taylor Swift (seriously the only female singer I listen to)
    • Kraftklub (a German rock band I saw at the Sziget festival last year and totally fell in love with)

Okay, I think that’s it. And that’s just such a small percentage of all the artists and bands I listen to, but those are my ultimate favourites.

If any of you share the same taste in music as me or want to know something more about some bands or artists, I’d be happy to talk to you and share my love for music. Thanks for reading. x

Get to know me

Hola everyone.

As I have only posted a welcome post and some pics I took in my garden, I thought you’d maybe like to get to know me better, so here we goooooo:

  • I’m currently on the edge of crossing the 20-years-old-line
  • I’m from a small small town in the middle of nowhere, I like to call it Narnia
  • My native language is actually German, but I’m over the top in love with English, that’s why I try to keep as much English as I can in my life
  • I have two pets – a dog (chihuahua) and a cat
  • I actually have the feeling that my cat is my child (at least I like to tell that to everyone)
  • I consider myself as a geek/nerd (yep, school and college matters to me)
  • I’m currently in my first year of college studying journalism and communication science
  • If I could choose to live in any city of the world, I’d choose London (such a fascinating city)

  • I consider myself as a massive movie enthusiast
  • I probably spend wayyyy more time on YouTube than I should
  • I can’t live without music (yes, I know, everyone says that, but you’ll see in my later posts, I really mean it)
  • Yep, I’m a massive fangirl
  • I love traveling, especially with my mum and to cities
  • I’ve always been fascinated by photography (got a camera for christmas this year, hell yeah)
  • I’d always choose a horror movie over a romantic comedy thingy
  • Hogwarts is my dream school
  • I love fashion and going shopping (ofc), especially at the fabulous shop Forever 21
  • I’m a natural curl gurl
  • I’m highly addicted to going to concerts since 2013

  • I love the smell of books

… okay, I think that’s it. I hope I seem at least a little bit interesting. And again, if anyone of you wants to talk about sth with me or has any questions, I’m here. Thanks for reading. x

Hola

First of all, thanks for visiting my blog. You’re amazing.

You probably wanna know, what this blog is all about. Am I right? Actually, that’s a pretty good question. I began thinking about starting a personal blog about a year ago, mostly because this whole blogging-world fascinated me. And I simply wanted to be part of it.

So I started this blog, dedicated to my life as a young to-be-adult, looking for my place in the world and just celebrating life the way it is. I know, life’s not always as we all want it, but it wouldn’t be such an adventure without all the ups and downs.

Apart from that I always wanted to get my thoughts out to the world and share my hobbies and my love for things I enjoy (aka movies, music and photography).

So, if you’re interested in reading about a girl growing up and talking about her faves and mostly sharing her craziness and weirdness, then I think you just found the perfect place. Have fun.

Ps: If you wanna talk, I’m right here. Just say hi.
