London

Hola everyone.

I’m baaaack. And oh my god, I have so much to tell you guys. First of all I hope you’re all doing good and that you had amazing holidays (if you did have them). Because I certainly did. God, guys, London is such a beautiful city. It’s like the city-version of the love of my life. I don’t even know where to start, so I’ll just get right back to the beginning.

.

Do you know that feeling when you visit another place that’s not your home but you just feel like you’re home, because it just feels so right? That’s what I feel like when I’m in London. Yes, of course, it can never really feel like home, because home is where my family is, the place where I grew up. But I know that people can have more than one home and I just feel like London is one of those for me. I just soak all of it up. I don’t even know how that’s even possible but I love every single thing about it. I mean, that could be because I always visit the beautiful places of London, but I even love the subway. And since when do people really love the underground? It might sound crazy, but I really love it, no joke. And that’s saying something.

.

But what I loved the most about the trip – besides the Fall Out Boy concert, which was freaking mind-blowing, by the way – was that my parents and I visited places in London I had never seen before. Our hotel was situated in Whitechapel, we explored Soho even more than the last time and went to a photography gallery, we went for an amazing breakfast in Bethnal Green (I had a vegan version of the typical fry up – the restaurant was called the Gallery Cafe and I highly recommend it to you, it was so awesome) and on the last day we came across a vintage market in Shoreditch and visited Notthing Hill. So many new experiences and places, I loved it.

.

But before I ramble on and on, I’ll just let the pictures I took do the talking. I hope you enjoy them. Oh and guys, please stay tuned for more postings about London, about the concert and the shopping I did. And yeah, as I already said, I hope you’re all doing good and wish you an amazing weekend. And also please don’t hesitate to leave your thoughts and comments down below. Oh and, as always, thanks for reading. x

Christmas Is Coming

Hola everyone.

First of all, sorry for not posting anything last Friday. I had my last exam of this year in the evening at 8 o’clock and I basically spent the whole day studying and preparing for the exam and then I just didn’t have any time at all, to be honest. So yeah, I’m sorry.

.

But the positive thing is, the exam was pretty easy and I think I pretty much nailed it and since then I’ve been in such a good and christmasy mood. Which also quite surprises me, as I felt anything but christmasy the last few days and weeks. I actually thought it would stay like that – but here I am, feeling the whole christmas magic filling up my heart. It’s actually so shocking that christmas is just around the corner. And that the year is really coming to an end. It feels like days ago that I came back home from my time in Berlin. So, so crazy. But I guess we are all also pretty much looking forward to 2018. At least I hope so, because I am, honestly. I mean, 2017 has both been one of the shittiest years for the world and one of the best years for me. So it’s kind of complicated to really decide on how to look back at this year. So I really do hope that 2018 is going to be a better, even more amazing year for me, for us, for the world. Because we really need it.

.

But that’s not what this post is about. It’s about feeling all christmasy, so let’s get right to it. So, my parents just came home today from their vacation and actually, yesterday, I had planned on going to a ball. I mean, I seriously have one of the most amazing dresses ever. I’ll once show it to you, I promise. And it would have been the ball of my own school, so yeah, I had planned on going. But then I basically lost every single sense of motivation I had. I remember standing in front of my mirror, dressed in this beautiful, breathtaking dress and I just didn’t want to go. So I stood there, looking at myself, and then I suddenly had a really cool idea. Because last year, when I got home for the holidays from Berlin, my parents had already put up the tree and the house was all christmasy and I loved it so much. So I had the idea to do the same for them and put up the tree myself. At one o’clock in the night. Yes, I was this motivated.

.

So, I took out my phone, put an indie christmas playlist on (thanks Spotify) and got to work. And it was so soothing, I can’t even describe it. Do you know the feeling when you’re just so comfortable and happy, that it feels like you’re cuddled in a big pillow made of happiness and love? Because that’s what I felt like right there and then. I mean, it still took my quite some time to finish the tree, but I enjoyed every single second of it. And now I’m sitting here, the tree right across me, sparkling with its shiny lights. And I still get this bubbly, happy feeling. I guess christmas has really got me now. And my parents were indeed really surprised and happy when they saw the tree today. And that just made everything even better.

.

And I, of course, had to take some pictures of the process and the tree. I really hope you enjoy them. And maybe I can transport some of my happy feelings to you through them. That would be amazing.

.

But guys, have you also already put up your tree? Are you feeling all christmasy? Oh, and please, tell me what you think about the tree. I got inspired for the colors when I walked past the big tree at university – it’s also blue and silver and gold. And I thought, oh wow, that really looks cool. So I just reconstructed this here at home, for us. And I am actually really proud of the outcome. But what do you think? And what do your trees look like? I’m really curious to know. And yeah, I wish you all an amazing week and I hope you enjoyed this post and the pictures and, as always, thanks for reading. x

Paris at night – a concept

Hola everyone.

And we’re back with the series. As already mentioned in my previous posts, Paris is quite unbelievable when it comes to it’s beauty. Because I just couldn’t stop taking pictures. Especially at night. Especially in black and white. I still can’t really tell if Paris is more beautiful at night or at daytime. The decision is too tough.

.

And as I took so many pictures, I just had to turn this into a whole post, dedicated to the beautiful, magnificent Paris at night in black and white. But I’ll let the pictures do the talking. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I did taking them. And please don’t hesitate to leave a comment. And as always, I wish you alp an amazing week and thanks for reading. x

The country I love

Hola everyone.

Long time, no see. But hey, here I am, back at it again with some nice stories about my recent trip to the UK and of course the best pics. So without further ado, let’s get right into it.

.

The trip itself was actually a gift for my stepdad for christmas. Mum had bought him tickets for The Open in the UK, which is like the biggest golf tournament there. And as the UK is pretty much my favorite country on this planet, I just stuck to them and added myself on the people-going-to-the-UK-list. No UK trip without me. Nope.

.

Although the trip wasn’t that long, just four days, I think we saw quite a lot. On the first day we visited Manchester, than we drove to Blackpool and on the last day, while my parents were watching the golf tournament, I drove to Liverpool.

.

Manchester

As already mentioned, Manchester was the first city we visited. Our plane actually landed there and I told my parents that I would love to take a stroll around the city, so we just stayed there for the whole day and then drove to Blackpool where our hotel was in the evening. And I have to say, it was magnificent. I mean, I never expected it to be anything else but amazing, but I was really surprised by how “hipster” it was. All those old buildings with cool pubs and cafés and shops, street art everywhere, a town hall that looked a little bit like how I would imagine the real life version of Hogwarts and, of course, really cool people. For me, the whole city just screamed HIPSTER. And I loved that. After we had walked around a bit and me and my mum had done a little shopping, we walked back to our car and agreed that mum and I would have to visit this city again. It was just too cool not to see it again. Oh and the last plus, they actually have like two Wagamama restaurants there. Their food is something I’ve been craving since I had my first seafood ramen there last year in Brighton. Of course we went to eat there. Of course I loved it.

.

.

Blackpool

To be honest, I don’t really know what to say about Blackpool. I guess Blackpool is what you would call the Vegas or the Ballermann of England. There are thousands of game stores, things like rollercoasters and a giant ferris wheel and hundreds of people being distracted by the whole entertainment show that is going on down at the piers and the beach. Too much for me, honestly. For me that was like the ugly part of the UK. At first, mostly, because on our second evening we walked a little further up North next to the beach and got to the more laid back, chilled and quiet area of the city, which was and looked a lot nicer to me. So I guess we just had to look for the right part of the city. But except for all the party stuff that’s going on in Blackpool, I really enjoyed going for a little shopping stroll there (more to come in my next haul post) and, of course, the beach. I looooove the beach and the sea. Really. I think living right next to the beach is one of the coolest things ever. No wonder I can see myself spending my later life in Brighton.

.

.

Liverpool

Another great city, another reason for me the love the UK. As I said a few passages before, I actually visited Liverpool completely on my own. I got there by train and, honestly, just the train ride was so freaking amazing, I was so happy. I think the countryside of the UK is something really special. Everything is so green and glowy. You can seriously see the life. And after the ride, it just got better and better. I think Liverpool is especially cool, as it looks so modern and new. Not to mention the piers and the waterfront, which make it so unique and cute. I enjoyed it so much, just walking around the city, taking pictures and sitting at the pier, listening to the waves and breathing in the fresh sea air. After going to Liverpool, I had the idea of visiting the UK next time by driving from one city to the next by train and just visiting city after city for a week or so. Because it is so easy. You could start right in the North and then visit city after city by train and end the whole trip in London or so. This way even the train rides are a supercool event. I’d really love to do this.

.

.

So yeah, there you go guys. That’s my little trip to the UK. I really hope you enjoyed it and all of my pics. I extremely enjoyed visiting the UK again, it just feels so home-like for me. And I can’t wait to get back – what a surprise. If any of you guys have questions or want to know more or just have anything to say, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment down below. And until then, I wish you all an amazing weekend and, as always, thanks for reading. x

Magic

Hola everyone.

So, a few days something magnificent happened. It was about 8 o’clock in the evening and the sun was starting to go down. I’ve never told you about this but here at home, we’re gifted with some of the nicest sunsets ever. And this one a few days ago was just breathtaking.

.

And of course I just had to grab my camera as quick as I could and went outside and took some shots. And as soon as I looked through the lens, the whole world turned into a magic wonderland. That’s when I knew that this moment right there was perfect. I knew that I was meant to hold this camera. I knew that I love photography with every cell of my body. And as I fell so in love with the pictures, I just had to share them with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

.

Apart from that I hope you’re all doing well and I wish you all an amazing weekend. And please don’t hesitate to leave a comment down below. And, as always, I hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for reading. x

Winter Wonderland

Hola everyone.

So, it’s snowing. Finally. And I don’t know why, but this year I kind of really enjoy it when I’m outside and even in Berlin and not at home – usually I hate all the mud everywhere. And to be honest, when you look outside the window and the snowflakes are dancing around in the air, you just can’t help feeling a little romantic inside.

.

And because I thought that it was so beautiful outside, I wrapped myself up in huge amounts of clothing and went for a little adventure with my camera. And of course I had to show you my best snaps. So, here they are. Enjoy.

Also, I just got an upgrade for my blog, so this little space here is now called “thatlemonlife.blog” (as soon as the upgrade is finished in a few hours). I seriously have my own website now. How freaking cool is that? God, I’m so excited. Also, by doing that, I will now make some changes on the site, change the design and so on. I hope you’ll love it as much as me when it’s finished. That’s a new era guys, a new era.

.

Oh, and thanks for being here and reading my blog and paying attention to the little dreamer know as myself. I hope you all had a great start of this week and are feeling happy. I really hope you enjoy this post and my pictures. And as always, thanks for reading. x
