A walk in the wild

Hola everyone.

And welcome to another week. It’s Monday and this time I’m back again with some nice black and white photography. But this time with a bit of a more positive meaning behind them. Actually, the pictures I’m about to show you are a bit “old”, I’d say. I took them on a hike I went on together with my mum and Molly, my dog, just before moving to Brighton. But today I can finally show them to you.

.

Honestly, when it comes to nature, I can be quite a complex individual. Because I absolutely love living in the city, where everything you need is just around the corner and everyone’s busy and buzzing. I really do love it. But on the other hand I completely adore the nature and being in the wild, especially the woods. This also why I need to go for a walk at least once a day. It’s my way of calming myself down and logging off for some time. It’s bit therapeutic, you could say. So when my mum came up to me and told me about her idea of going on a hike together, I was head over heels in love with it.

.

And the pictures are kind of the result of that very day. As it sometimes happens, I wasn’t quite in the mood for colored pictures, so I stuck to black and white and personally, I think they came out just perfect. I love how they have both cheerful and creepy vibes to them. And oh my god, those pictures of Molly. Can you believe that there’s actually a dog out there in the world that is that cute? Because I can’t. I think the one picture of her with the flower next to her is one of the cutest pictures I have ever taken. Look at her smile. I now have it framed on the beside table next to me and I get heart-eyes every time I look at it. What a cutie.

.

The only thing you can’t see through the pictures is the actual exhaustion. Because when we got there, we planned on walking for about 17 kilometers I think. Well. Those turned out to be 22 in the end, which, yeah, was a bit much. But hey, we survived and in the end it was one of the best days in my life. It was so nice to spend some time alone with my mum and Molly. So yeah, I loved every single second of it and I couldn’t be happier that I now finally get to share some of those special moments with you. I hope you enjoy them.

As always, please don’t hesitate to leave your comments down below. And yeah, I wish you all an amazing week and hope you’re doing well. And, of course, thanks for reading. x

Taking pictures with my camera

Hola everyone.

So, as some of you may have noticed, on my last post I focused on the photographic ability of my iPhone. I went out and about and took pictures with my phone and as I already mentioned in that post, I was seriously pleasantly surprised. They turned out far better than I had imagined. Actually, the looked pretty amazing. Here’s the post if you want to check it out – click me.

.

And in addition to that post, I thought I’d now make a post to directly compare those pictures with ones I’ve taken with my professional camera. I again went out into my garden and took some shots of the nature around me. As you can see down below, unfortunately I couldn’t always take the same pictures as the ones I took with my phone, mostly because everything had already changed so much and other plants and flowers had started to bloom. And as you can probably guess, it would have also been pretty boring to just take the same pictures over and over again. Bye bye artistic creativity, am I right? But I of course also tried to take some similar shots of the same flowers, so we can directly compare them.

.

As you can see at the pictures, the main difference between the pictures I took with my iPhone and the one I took with my Sony Alpha 6000 camera is the sharpness of the pics. You can clearly see everything in the pics, even the smallest petals and their structures. But personally, I don’t even mind that my phone isn’t able to take pictures with such a high definition, because then I wouldn’t need my camera, which I would never give away. I love it too much and I want a reason to use it. Apart from that I think that all over, the vibes of the photo series are completely different. The iPhone ones look chilled, they’re more blurry. They’re basically pics you see on Instagram. And with my camera they just look professional, which they also are, of course. They just seem like someone put more effort into making them. I don’t know, that’s just my perception.

.

But what do you think? Which pictures do you enjoy more? I’m really curious to hear your thoughts and opinions, so please don’t hesitate to leave them down below. And until then I hope you enjoy these pictures and that you’re doing good. And, as always, I wish you a nice weekend and thanks for reading. x

Monet`s Garden

Hola everyone.

As following my previous post about my trip to Paris together with my mum, I thought I’d turn this whole experience into a little series of posts to share the whole beauty of the city with you guys.

.

And before heading straight for a haul or something like that, I thought I’d share one of the nicest days with you – the day my mum and I visited Claude Monet`s garden and house in Giverny. I found out about the possibility to visit this magnificent place while sorting out the to-do-list for Paris. As soon as I saw it, I just had to visit it. Especially as Monet is one of my favorite painters due to his pastel color scheme. Thankfully my mum was up for it right from the start, so that was fixed.

.

We got to Giverny by the direct train from Paris and then took a shuttle, I think it took us about one hour and a half to finally end up in front of Monet’s house. Unfortunately we had to wait quite some time, but it could have been worse, because even the streets and other houses of Giverny looked so beautiful, flowers blooming everywhere, the sun lighting up the walls. But that was nothing compared to what was waiting for us beyond the stonewalls of the garden.

.

Guys, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more beautiful garden than that. I can now fully understand Monet’s love for gardening and plants and painting. That place was and is so beautiful, of course you’d want to capture that in some way. Every centimeter is covered in plants, flowers and pots of colorful blooms. It’s crazy. And the house is so cute, with it’s light pink walls and green doors and windows. And don’t even get me started on the interior, it’s breathtaking. And the view from the windows on the first floor, oh my god.

.

What I loved the most was the calming feeling it brought to me. I mean, Paris is a buzzing city and in comparison to that, the garden felt like a oasis. Like somebody turned off the whole world. At one point my mum and I sat down on a bench in front of a small river floating through the garden, eating a croissant and just enjoying the moment. It was so beautiful, I don’t know how to describe it any better. I guess you have to experience it yourself to really be able to feel it.

.

And for me as a photographer, the place felt like heaven on earth. I think I could have spent the whole day there, maybe even two, just taking pictures of every plant, every  single corner of the house and every magnificent leaf. I loved it so much there and I’m so freaking happy that we took this little journey to get there. It’s really unbelievable to be able to stand at the same place where once Monet himself stood while creating one of his breathtaking works. I’m still shook, to be honest.

.

And without further ado, I think I’ll leave the rest to all the pictures I took. I hope you like them as much as I do. And of course the post overall. If you have any questions or want to talk, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment down below. And if you ever get the chance, I can just strongly recommend you guys to visit this garden. You won’t regret it, I swear. And until then I wish you all an amazing week and, as always, thanks for reading. x

Berlin update #2

Hola everyone.

As you probably all know – or some of you – I’m currently living in the beautiful city named Berlin. And I thought I’d give you a little update on how life is going and has changed since the last update.

.
So, it has been two weeks of living here and I have to say, compared to a week ago, life here has really changed, but in a very good way, thank god. First of all, I think I finally got more used to being here. I mean, I still can’t realize that I am in Berlin, but hey, at least I am now comfortable in the city.

.
Also, the reason I’m better is probably because of the Panic! concert. It really brought me a lot of happiness and inspiration, enough to be as happy as I can for the whole week and maybe even the next one too. And of course I got to know the city more. Google is my best friend at the moment. I strolled through the city all week, looking where all my favorite shopd are, where my washing salon is located, how I can get from A to B and so on. And that really helped.

.
Oh and on the last part, my friend Lisa and her boyfriend visited me for four days and that just made everything so much better. I was so happy to see them, talk to them, go out and habe dinnee together and so on. It felt really good to actually see someone from home again. Those days were really amazing. Oh and speaking from home, I’m planning on flying home at the beginning of december and that is making me so freaking happy. I’m already looking forward to doing nothing but cuddle with my two babies and see my family again.

.
Besides that, I’m really glad that I have internet here, the aspect that I’m talking to my friends and family every single day from day to night makes me feel less alone and just really happy. Oh and me and mum are calling eachother every single day, that’s our strict rule and we stick to that.

.
So yeah, that’s my life currently here. So far, every single day here has been an adventure and something new for me. Which is really exciting. Overall, I can say that I’m happy that I decided to do this, although I miss home like crazy. But that’s the price I have to pay.

.
If any of you want to talk to me about my life here, don’t hestitate to hit me up. And until then, I hope you enjoyed this post and, as always, thanks for reading. x
