How to survive exam week

Hola everyone.

Well well… Exam week is “finally” here and it’s also time for my first ever exams at university. You can probably imagine my excitement, that comes in good and bad ways. And although it’s only the start of my university-exam-career, I had time to understand how the week of hell works. So, here are some tips from me to you on how to survive exams:

  • Start soon enough, don’t wait until it’s too late and you get the stress of your life, and yeah, I know, noone likes to study
  • Eat and drink enough (it’s just exams and no reason to stop caring about yourself)
  • Don’t let anyone else stress you
  • Noone cares if you look tired, seriously, we are all tired
  • Your friends will understand if you don’t go to that one party
  • Don’t stress yourself too much, they’re just exams, you won’t die if you fail
  • Grades don’t matter that much (I know, because I had all straight As at my A-levels and noone cares until today)
  • Don’t stop doing what you love because of exams, that will just make you sad
  • Sleep is precious and you need it, don’t cut down on it
  • Your brain is your new best friend
  • Listening to music can help you to calm down (at least it does that for me)
  • Even if it’s stressful, you need to chill and rest a little
  • Procrastinating is bad for you, even if the fly on the wall is much more interesting than the book in front of you
  • Your social life is still important, don’t isolate yourself completely
  • Take breaks there and then
  • Just breath
  • You can do anything you want
  • You are strong enough

I hope this helps some of you surviving the week of hell. I know you can do it, just believe in yourself. Exams are just small hurdles on the exciting way called life. And we will all overcome them. So, good luck with your exams and thanks for reading. x

My music list

Hola everyone.

As you probably know from my “get to know me” post, I’m highly in love with music. Like, I seriously can’t live without it, I just can’t. I’m even listening to some good old Panic! at the disco right now. I’d say, that proves my point.

And as I made a list of my favourite movies, I thought about doing the same for my favourite bands, singers and so on. So, here you go. My favourite musicians.

    • Fall Out Boy (you really miss A LOT, if you don’t listen to them)
    • Two Door Cinema Club (my first real concert and the reason for my concert addiction)
    • Conor Maynard (my bae… you’ll hear more about him. A LOT more)
    • Saint Raymond (if you don’t know him, what are you waiting for?)
    • Justin Bieber (everyone likes him, don’t even start denying that)
    • One Direction (they’re amazing, they just are)
    • Troye Sivan (the youtuber with the fascinating music)
    • Twenty One Pilots (I just love everything they do… can’t wait to see them live next month)
    • Ed Sheeran (don’t even know what to tell you… his voice is pure heaven and he has more talent than I could ever imagine. His concert is still something I think back to every single day)
    • 5 Seconds of Summer (because who doesn’t want four crazy Aussies in their life?)
    • Martin Garrix (probably the cutest DJ out there. His snapchat is EVERYTHING)
    • The Vamps (one of the reasons why I always say that English guys are the BEST)
    • OneRepublic (the band I have always loved and always will)
    • The 1975 (the little sprinkle of weirdness and alternative music I need in my life)
    • Avicii (his concerts are seriously the best and biggest party ever)
    • Taylor Swift (seriously the only female singer I listen to)
    • Kraftklub (a German rock band I saw at the Sziget festival last year and totally fell in love with)

Okay, I think that’s it. And that’s just such a small percentage of all the artists and bands I listen to, but those are my ultimate favourites.

If any of you share the same taste in music as me or want to know something more about some bands or artists, I’d be happy to talk to you and share my love for music. Thanks for reading. x

Movie recommendation

Hola everyone.

Sooo, as you maybe know, I’m a huuuuge fan of movies, I just love watching them. And yes, I take that very serious, because a movie isn’t just some sort of time spending thing for me. It’s more. It’s a way to live someone elses story, to be them, to have their dreams, their fears. It’s basically a one-and-a-half-trip into another life. And I just love getting caught up in such stories.

And whenever I watch a REALLY good movie, I just like to share my excitement for that amazing piece of work, and that’s what I want to do right now.

So, a few days ago I watched a movie called “Begin again” (or in German: “Can a song save your life” – I seriously have no idea why they change an English title to another English title for German speaking countries, but okayyy) and it was freaking amazing. It combines two awesome things, namely music and a good story.

A short movie description:

The movie is about the formerly successful record label executive Dan Mulligan (Mark Ruffalo) and the talented singer-songwriter Gretta James (Keira Knightley), both living in New York City. Dan is at the end of his career and has already given up on life as he runs into Gretta, who’s come to a complicated part of her relationship with her rockstar boyfriend Dave Kohl (Adam Levine) and who’s just on her way home to Bristol again. And as the two get to know each other, the encounter slowly turns into a promising collaboration between the two talents creating a wonderful movie full of happiness, amazing actors and breathtaking music.

I can only recommend this amazing movie, if any of you want to spend their evening with slowly sliding into a world of music, talented normal people just like you and me and pure happiness. A feel-good-movie all over.

Have fun watching the movie and thanks for reading. x

Ps: I totally fell in love with the title song “Lost Stars” by Adam Levine. You can go and check it out here, if you want to.

My movie list

Hola everyone.

Yes, I’m in love with movies. I’m in love with watching them, I’m in love with getting caught up in them, I’m in love with living the stories of other people for one and a half hour. I’m just in love with everything that has to do with movies.

And of course, that means, that I watch a lot of movies. Like really A LOT. And that’s why I dedicate this blog post to the list of my favorite movies. Let’s go.

My favorite movies – the list:

  • the whole Harry Potter series (who doesn’t love those movies? Like if you don’t like them, what’s wrong with you???)
  • The Hobbit – the trilogy (especially the first part)
  • The Amazing Spiderman part 1 and 2 (never cried so much while watching a movie)
  • The Avengers part 1 and 2 (part 2 is literally the best movie ever produced)
  • The Perks of Being a Wallflower (I’m so in love with Logan Lerman)
  • Stuck in love (the movie why I fell in love with writing – highly recommend that one)
  • The Conjuring  (the best horror movie EVER)
  • all of the Transformers movies
  • every Iron Man, Captain America and Thor movie (Marvel movies are the best, don’t even argue about that)
  • the The Maze Runner series
  • pretty much every single Disney movie, especially Frozen, Up and Brave
  • the Insidious series (nearly as good as Conjuring)
  • The Theory of Everything (Eddie Redmayne was breathtaking in that one)
  • Jurassic Park (I was always a fan of dinosaurs)
  • The Holiday (perfect mother-daughter movie)
  • Home alone and Home alone 2: Lost in New York (my childhood right there)
  • Titanic (of course… and because of young Leonardo DiCaprio)
  • Magic in the Moonlight (it feels like dreaming through the whole movie… and I love Emma Stone)
  • Midnight in Paris (yes, I have a special place in my heart for Woody Allen movies)

I think that’s it. Or mostly of it. If any of you have any good movies to recommend I would be glad to hear about them or if you just want to talk about movies in general and share the love for that kind of art, I’m here.

Thanks for reading. x
